Does anyone know how VGA works with the new AL iMacs? (Can it do extended desktop if you buy the right cables/converters?)
so I run WoW and it would be able to run WoW at native on my full screen and stuff like vent and internet on my second screen at its native resolution?
Well I know for a fact that iMac G5's and iBook g4's cannot use extended desktop by default under 10.4. This is not a hardware limitation but a software one. Apple used this to provide more of a difference between prosumer and consumer machines.
However, there is a freely firmware hack available which would void your warranty, but allows extended desktop.
In addition, I have not tried this with Leopard or newer iMacs.
The hack to be used AT YOUR OWN RISK can be found here:

"AT YOUR OWN RISK" - you're kidding right? The poster is using two monitors not performing brain surgery.
Yes but there is a little quirk. In the wow video settings choose windowed maximized rather than fullscreen. If you choose fullscreen it will black out the 2nd monitor.
This has the semi-unfortunate side affect of making the menu bar appear when your cursor hits the top of the screen.
Additionally, I have noticed that sometimes when switching from the 2nd monitor back to wow, wow may have trouble regaining focus (I think usually when i click on wow with other than the left mouse button), this is fixed by selecting the wow icon from the dock.
