he he he. people behave oddly. we will never know why they do what they do, that is just life :)

hmmm good question. there is nothing here on the beach (your 30 years late for that) where i am on the tweed coast. im not aware of any mining towns from basically here to port maquaire - inland maybe Moree, places around there.. its either that or QLD!

Yep, I don't even know why I do what.

And thanks for the mining bit. Haven't gotten back to this thread until now.

Now thanks to kpkil's post, I am gonna try out wine and see if i can get dvd shrink to work that way. Thanks!
Really? You're going to go through all that effort and not even bother with MacThe Ripper? It runs natively! Ah well your call I guess.

Tsktsk get your priorities straight man lol. Where are you living ATM?

I'm back from the dead, so that should mean something. :p

I'm currently living in Europe, Berlin or the other way around, but was always fascinated by Australia and Africa somehow. Australia would be the easier choice though, as I can already speak English in some way and two years ago some friend brought me onto those mining jobs, but they seem to be concentrated on WA and NA.

And although summer is only starting here, I'm starting to miss milder temperatures, as I'm not that cut out for warm weather it seems. So now my eyes are more focused on NZ.
Or is the south of Australia not as hot during the summer, which is still some months away of course?

My ... parents used to move my pram (including me) outside the house during winter, so they could smoke I guess. Thus I'm not as accustomed to warmer temperatures.

you would see max's of 20°C in the middle of winter, nights get around 0°C. i cannot stand the cold, i class cold as <15°C then i have to put on a jumper! :D

i always thought you were aussie there for a bit, maybe not? :(

:( unrucky :(

almost as unrucky as using DVD shrink instead of MTR! hahahaha

I went offline for two weeks, at least on this place. But it seems I'm still addicted and dependent. ;) Nothing new for me anyway, as I'm prone tp addiction. :p

Wow, that's a warm winter, I would turn Orange in that temperature, or at least move there I guess.

Na, I'm not one of those as close to hell without getting burnt. I wish I would be, it would mean I could have better "people skills" and such, and having a deviant accent, but after watching Farscape to excess, I'm partly drawn to the NZ accent anyway. But I still like the idea of a country with such a low population and so much area to spread out to. And I'm partially a convict anyway (not much, but I have seen the inside of some prison cells for some hours anyway, for unpaid tickets). ;)

Not really, as it strengthened my immune system, at least until I started smoking (as compensation for not smoking THC products), but I still manage to get only one three days cold per year.

That's just people who don't know better. ;)

We need more smilies.

i meant unrucky in the sense that your "parents" treated you that way and put you out in the cold. :)

i have yet to try out MTR4, i am still waiting for a forum acceptance message from their management!! its been about a year :( but from personal experience using MTR3r14, i have had NO discs that it cannot rip. :) i recommend it to everybody. no need for silly VMs/WINE etc.

So Mac the Ripper will shrink the DVD9 files so they fit onto a DVD5? I've used it, but completely missed that it does the same thing as DVDShrink. (otherwise, I wouldn't have gone through the trouble of getting DVDShrink to work through Wine - it still does by the way).

No, MacTheRipper will not further compress the video DVD's contents. If the source is 7GB, the ripped copy is also 7GB.
