We've got a DC26, one of their smaller models.

It's OK, gets the job done. Very light so it's easy to carry about, has lots of attachments, the hose breaks down easily and adjusts well.

Downside on our particular model is that suction is on the weak side and it needs emptying often.

Personally I wouldn't buy anything but a Dyson.

Hey - ever notice how Tim Cook looks just like the Dyson guy?

We had a Dyson with a "power head" for ten years and absolutely loved it. Had a couple of breakdowns over the years, but Dyson offer(ed) a free door-to-door repair service (around here) so it was never a problem. On the last breakdown they gave us two new power heads for free.

Our Golden Retriever does nothing all day but produce hair, and our old Dyson worked wonderfully at picking it up. We were some of Dyson's biggest fans (and advocates).

After ten years it failed dramatically (sparks flying), so I went off to the shop to buy a replacement. Unfortunately I bought the "turbo head" model, rather than the power head. Let me tell you, our new Dyson is the biggest piece of overpriced crap I've ever owned. It barely sucks, is constantly clogged, and takes a real beating as I drag it mercilessly around the house hating every moment of vacuuming with it. It has made the housework a chore once again.

So be careful what model you buy.

I have the DC Animal, it is a tremendous vacuum cleaner. With two Golden's and a cat I need a lot of sucky power and the Dyson is awesome. If apple were to make a vacuum, it would be a Dyson, don't you think?

I have got 2 Dysons:

DC25 Multi floor

and the DC23 Turbinehead.

and both have been working without any issues for around 4years.

Dyson Vacuums are very similar to Apple Products.

You get what you pay for. They are very easy to use. They work perfectly. Tons of places have lots of sales. I got my $599 model at Best Buy for $319. DO NOT get a refurbished one as the best thing about Dyson is their warranty and when you get a refurb you only get a 90 day.

We have one. I'm not that fond of it. I find it does lose suction, despite the promotional material saying "DOESN'T LOSE SUCTION!". Ha! Yeah right.

How old is yours? And does it loose suction to the extent that it is unusable?

Do you clean urs regularly?

Mine are 2 and 4 (nearly 5) years old and the suction both is near excellent although i do clean the filters as recommended and empty it as much as possible.

It's probably only about 3 years old. It's emptied regularly and cleaned. It doesn't lose suction to the extend that it's unusable, but you often have to go over the same spot on the floor 3 or 4 times to clean it.

Well that sucks for you, i guess i just got lucky with mine, although if yours gets any worse and your within warranty try to get it exchanged their support is excellent, had a piece break off and they fixed it for free with no questions asked 1 month after the warranty ran out.

Thanks for the tip. Not sure if it's still within warranty or not.

They also have excellent service - 5 years. The drive band to the head broke a few weeks ago after 4 years heavy use. I lost the original receipt. Called the help line and based on manufacturing date, agreed I was still covered. Engineer came to house. Replaced the drive band. Then the engineer tested the motor and thought it was on the way out and replaced that as well. Looked at the cable and thought it had got a little twisted and replaced that as well, so felt like I almost got a new Dyson.
