How come your first picture kind of shows your case with 3 colors? like silver/white/orange an the following pictures show only 2 colors? Or is it your camera?

That's definitely because of the light situation. It is the same case on all photos. My wife was in the other side of the table and I didn't want to move her just to get better light. :)

I'm still not seeing much signal drop, if any. I have the same amount of signal bars I used to have in different locations. I haven't used field test mode a lot before so I don't have numbers to compare with.

My signal change varies from none to 2 bars now. It's hard to keep track of since I've always had sorta spotty (varies from 1 bar to 5. Just depends on the hour lol) reception in my dorm room. Also, I now have an aluminum backplate so I'm sure that plays some role in any degradation. In my opinion though, you shouldn't see much problem. Unless you live in an area where you consistently have poor-mild coverage, in which case you shouldn't be bothering with aluminum cases to begin with lol

Would this kill the reception on an iPhone 4 since it's got a different antenna?

So the fitment problems from my case are from the plastic inserts. They still sit on my antenna, but just barely. They don't perfectly fit around the glass, so thats why the phone can slide up and down in the aluminum bumper.. Sad day.

I'm thinking I might get some thin strips of foam and sorta fill in the gaps between the screen and the bumper. If I use black, no one could tell, it'll keep debris out of the gaps, and should keeps phone from sliding. Not sure where I'm gonna find that though. Maybe I'll use some felt instead. We'll see what I come up with..

I find it really strange that there is room for your phone to slide. My wouldn't be able to move even if it wanted to. Could there be two manufacturers of this knock-off case? I See you purchased from Jackie Lin, I ordered from Jackie Nie...

Here's two photos of the top and bottom part of the front of my iPhone, seen from the side. There's no room left between the plastic rim around the glass and the case.

Or could it be that the plastic rim is wider on the white iPhone?

Did you really make sure you put the plastic spacers the right way?

Could you please post a link to Mr. Nie's store? Also do you know if he takes paypal?

Thank you all for the post in regards to reception and all the great photos of this case.

Here's the link to the one I bought.

Yes, he accepts Paypal, but I used Aliexpress' escrow service which meant the seller didn't get any money until I confirmed the delivery.

I dont have anything other than my iPhone to take pics with, so I'll post up some pictures once I get home either tomorrow or Wednesday to show exactly what I'm talking about.

Could you post pics with just the plastic inserts sitting on the antenna? The aluminum seems fine, It just looks like they should have made my plastic inserts thicker on the top and bottom.

Here's a couple of photos of the plastic insert. It's difficult to get the light right.

Top front part. You can see the antenna shine through the plastic here:

The corners aren't as exact, but good enough:

LOL thats is some serious macro photos, i can see some growth starting already and maybe even some dust mites, rofl.

I just purchased one. Blue top, black bottom.

Now it's the waiting game :D

Does your GPS work?

I purchased a knock-off Deff Cleave and holy crap, it killed my reception and I never was able to locate myself with GPS, but the case does look/feel good. Hopefully this case doesn't do the same. Not form over function.

Yes, it works as it did before. I see no difference with the GPS.

I have however seen a *slight* difference in signal strength at home, but the problem is that several factors have changed recently so I might have seen the difference anyway. I have the new case, I have changed phone to an 4S AND I have a different provider. And all this within a week. So any reception problems might as well be blamed on the provider. But I live in a small valley with no cell towers in sight, so I have had bad signal strength all along.

Received my Black/Black S4 Pro case today, well at least what was supposed to be my S4 Pro case. I had ordered an S4 Pro case from Jacky Lin on the 7th of Nov. and received it on the 25th. I'll admit I didn't pay much attention to the verbiage on the packaging and just went straight to installing it. The case went together quickly with the fit and alignment great. I am really liking the look of the case, aside from the fact that I was shipped the S4 case. So not only are the cutouts tighter on both the dock/speaker area but also the mute/volume area. I have sent a message to the seller to voice my disappointment and offer my thoughts on what should be done to rectify this issue. So, I'll have to post an update on how he handles his major fulfillment/shipping error. I'll try to get some pics posted up this weekend.

UPDATE ... Jacky lin replied almost immediately and after sending a couple pics as proof has said they will ship out the correct case, hopefully the second time around will turn out better.

Well, I brought a 3GS back to school with me so I can mess around with Jailbreaking. Used that to snap some pics of my case issues.

First, here's a back shot just showing off my backplate. Then I tried showing the gaps I have. Not only is there space between the plastic and the glass, but the plastic actually has room to slide up and down in the metal frame.. Oh well, my new cases got delivered this past Wednesday but I was out of town so I should be able to get them tomorrow

Very strange that there is so much room for the plastic to move around.

Have you gotten your new case yet?

Yup, Just picked it and the deff cleave I ordered up today. It got delivered the day after I went out of town for Thanksgiving, so I had to wait a while. Then they made me go to the school's off-campus mail site to pick up and sign for the package for whatever reason. They didnt make me do this for the e13ctron...

I made a short review for the two cases, but I accidentally posted them in the iPad accessories forum, so hopefully they'll move them for me soon lol

I messaged Jacky to see about getting some more plastic pieces. We'll see what happens....

edit: I also preformed a few accidental drop tests last week. several 3ft drops onto hard wood floor which resulted in no damage, and one where i got out of the jeep at the gas station and it fell off my lap onto the concrete (~4.5ft?). No damage to the phone, just a small nick from the initial impact on the corner. I was expecting a LOT worse lol.

Edit 2: Jacky just told me to reinstall the plastic pieces and that would "make all ok".. Even though I included pictures.. No bueno..

Here is an update...

I got my case and... SIGNAL degration -.- so much so that my battery drops 20% in like 30 minutes. I had a feeling this was going to happen as soon as I took the case out of it's package, it looks just like the sword case which also almost complete drops all signal reception.

So it seems it's a crap shoot, if you have your phone in an area that has strong signal ALL the time then I am sure you will not notice much but as soon as you move into an area that has low signal your phone will keep on trying to connect (or do something) and drain your batt down quickly (I have an iPhone 4S so might have something to do with the battery drain as well idk).

The only case so far that has not degrated signal is the vapor cases, and I am sure that is due to the fact that this case has slots on one side and the polymer bridge which does not make the case a full faraday cage.

Bummer!!! for the e13ctron is a nice looking case , Good luck to you future owners, putting my on fleabay.

Is that the dark gray color that you got, OP ? Wish there were some better pics, thanks for your post :)

Buyers should note thought that it doesn't fit the 4S.

There's a drop down box at the top that has an options for the iPhone 4 and 4S. You sure you got the right one?

(note: I haven't confirmed it'll fit with the seller, just stating what I saw on the website. I'll message them right now and see what they have to say)
