I thought I'd revive this thread again.

I spent my day walking on my carpet wearing wool socks in the winter (dry cold air) and then I went to grab my computer and it shocked me!

:eek::eek:

I can't believe how mean my computer is. Especially with how nice I treat it!

Why not revive it again it's good to pull it out every couple of years and blow the dust off.

I get shocked all the time from my in ear buds plugged into my computer and was just googling this to see if I was nuts. Okay that's all.

I thought it was just me! I bought many of the new candy skull the 50/50 and I have returned like 6 pairs so far and when I go to my company provider(AT&T ) they laugh at me because they think I'm laying , I wonder why's wrong or is it my iPhone 4? But one thing for sure is that it really hurts and I'm even scared of listening to my music!! I got shocked like for 10 seconds both ears it's really getting annoying , someone fix thi issue before my brain fries from many shocks I get !! I feel like I'm in a psiquiatric ward !!

Read the whole thread! It's static electricity, neither the earbuds, nor the phone are faulty. It happens and it's harmless.

And you have atrocious spelling and grammar.

Static discharge.

End of thread.

Edit: I just realized this thread is from lightyears ago. Don't pay any attention to me. I was never here.

This is not always the case (static electricity). Although I am sure some people will start posting non stop that it is, hear me out.

A few years ago at the gym, one of the machines I went too (all have earbud jacks for tv) was repeatedly causing me to be shocked. It was only that treadmill, no other ones. No fault in the headphones, no static charge any different from any other machine, in that case it was the device the headphones were connected to.
