Hey guys, I was chilling out with this really hot chick today after school that is way out of my league. I am 15 years old, and we started talking about stuff and we came to the discussion of what we like in girls and guys and she said that ear piercings on guys look really hot but not many guys would look good with them, but she said I would look good with them. I just ignored it because I always thought that ear piercings on guys was kinda different, and she was just saying that, but she kept on urging me to for about an hour and it got me thinking about how I would look with earrings, and I actually think I would look good with them. I don't know though, what do you guys think?

Unless you are in the Navy, have sailed around the Cape of Good Hope, or are a pirate; men shouldn't have earrings. :)

earrings are for anyone who wants them. want them. get them.

what is the inherent difference between a man and a woman's body that limits a man from wearing earrings?

sounds like this girl wants you if she kept on saying that a piercing would look good on you ;)… but dont all of a sudden get one you may seem too desperate. if you where to get one have your left brow pierced and not your ear.

nothing.....its the culture one lives in. imo, guys shouldnt have earrings

i mean, women could grow their hair our on their legs and not shave and guys could grow their hair out as opposed to keeping it short. women dont have to wear high heels at formal events or wear makeup either. do they? no. why? because thats our cultural expectation

isn't that a bit misogynistic/sexist (even maybe homophobic?) viewpoint though?

misogynistic? sexist? homophobic? not at all.

im merely pointing out that society does have certain expectations on male vs female behavior. you cant deny that there are societal norms

i dont really care if a guy gets an earring. just saying that how i was raised and from what i observed through culture, that was predominantly viewed as a female behavior and hence i will never get one

Why not just get a pair of magnetic earrings and wear them for a little while? You can always take them off without leaving holes and see how you look.

I've bought some at Clairs, some are plain some are CZ. I've had turtle ones, but I doubt that'll be your style.

I had my ears pierced about 4 years ago. I liked it a lot then, but when I look back on it now, I don't think they looked as good on me. Go for it and see if you like it. If you don't then just take them out and it'll regrow.

i have earings... two in the left and one in the right... as far as i concerned, society can kiss my ass and i'm 35

mannnnn if you want them get them, if you dont like them after take them off, I wish i could have piercings, but in my training (mma) they would get ripped off, or i would have to take a long break and wait for them to heal so i can take them off everytime i train..hmmm not happening...the only one i could get and won't get tangled up would be...well.. protected by teh jock,, by im not interested on that one... just get them if you want them

Do you know what would look good on you? Her. ;)

Seriously, make a date of it and have her take you to get your ear pierced and pick out a pair of earrings. Don't rush out to do it yourself, but don't avoid getting them just so that you don't look whipped. Have her involved in the process, and that's a good afternoon right there.

yeah that sounds like a plan man....Abstract is good ...make her pay for it too,, or half, just tell her she will enjoy it too so she should pay too....lol kiddn don t do that

you and i are the only ones who picked up on that!

I think one ear pierced looks stupid on a guy. Both ears pierced looks better (From a female's perspective). Even more shmexy is an eyebrow piercing :D

I'm 24 and I've had both my ears pierced since I was very little...like 3 or 4. I'm just used too it....as far as men having them in general....it's whatever floats your boat...just don't wear a single earing in your right ear cause I've heard that's a myth about being homosexual.

If it fits your "style" go for it man. I have two suggestions if you do make the dive.

1. Get both ears pierced at once. I had just my left ear done for a while and when I think about it now it probably looked pretty rediculous (or maybe homosexual?). I'd say nowadays both ears pierced, with cool earrings mind you, looks a bit more "manly" than one.

2. Have it done at a well known tattoo parlor. The people at these places often do piercings in places much more sensitive than your ear and will know what the eff they're doing. Also they use a technique that is different than the piercing guns many of the mall places use which is better for healing. Of course they use surgically sterile stuff as well.

Luckily a piercing can always be removed if it hasn't gotten too big so all you really have to worry about is emptying your wallet. Oh, and possibly looking like a tool.

They sell DIY kits at Sallys Beauty Supply (idk if you got one around your area) they're like $6, one time use only.

I have three piercings. One I got when I was in kindergarten, and I got the last 2 last year.

A lot of guys in my area (Bay Area, CA) have earrings.
