I'm enjoying iPhoto, but am finding the facial recognition feature odd. It generally seems to be working very well. I was impressed how often it has been able to recognize pictures of my 3 year old daughter in photos - even in pictures from when she was an infant - she has changed so much in three years and I'm surprised that it so easily makes the connection. The odd thing is that my wife is nearly invisible, it seems, to the function. Not only does the program frequently identify many other people - who I don't wish to tag (strangers in the background, for instance) - as her, but it often doesn't even recognize hers as a face in a picture. In a family picture with all faces well lit and fully in view in the picture, every face but hers will have a box around it.
She's got two eyes, a nose and a mouth - and they're all in proper proportion, as far as I can tell 🙂 - but she just doesn't seem to register with the program! For the frequency with which it seems to see faces in tree bark and the speckles in granite countertops, it seems to not see her an inordinate number of times.
