Does anyone remember what the prices on eBay were like when the original iPhone came out? They seem relatively expensive still on eBay.

The cheapest way to get a PAYG iPhone would be to go to Switzerland where they are going to sell the 8Gb for CHF519 (~£254) and the 16Gb for CHF619 (~£304).
But I don't know if this is only for residents. May be they ask you for an ID and proof of residence when you buy it in person...
