Easter egg!

Hello... i find these two easter eggs for tiger really cool! Check them out.

1: Your own psychotherapist on your mac, free.

a) Open up Terminal.
b) When it has started up type in "emacs" (without speech marks) and press enter.
c) Press x and escape together.
d) Then type in "doctor" (again without speech marks.)

Your text-based doctor should appear ready to council. Not great, but hey, its fun while it lasted! :)

2: The developers of Mail.app

a) Go to Applications folder on your Hard Drive
b) Look for Mail
c) ctrl-Click the app and choose "Show package"
d) Look inside for folder Contents - Resources
e) Look for "senders.tiff" and open it with Preview
f) After seconds you can see the other layers to the right of the window.

These 8 people are seemingly the developers of Mail... but who knows.

---> We should have an Easter egg sticky! Tho there arent many, but its cool to see what we have in Tiger all at once. Its a shame Steve didnt like easter eggs.
 
Only #2 is truly an easter egg. The first one is merely one of the many example scripts that are included with every copy of emacs.

You need to press esc and x at the same time. Then your tooltip will show up at the bottom of terminal, where then on you need to type whatever command you want, eg. doctor, or tetris... then press enter.

Theres also a tetris game for all y'all who dunno. Instead of typing doctor, you type tetris and press enter. Nothing snazzy or fancy, but hey, its tetris.
 
How do I ger the doctor to answer me? I typed in RET RET but nothing happened...

Another Egg

Here is another egg a friend showed me a few months ago.

Press and hold down apple+option+control+8

It will invert your screen and stay there, even during bootup. Just press the following buttons together to reset it back.

There is site with a whole load of easter eggs too! I can't remember...a quick google will show it.

Actually that is in System Preferences > Universal Access. :)

Why not? It should work for people with tiger. maybe you pressed something wrong?
 
Funnily enough I just read about the mail people thing a few days ago. Apparently if you get an email from any of those developers it will show up.

But where are the *real* easter eggs. I mean really top notch ones like the Quark 4 easter egg delete box where the little martian comes out and fires an atomic powered grenade launcher.

The first one doesn't work. It simply doesn't work. Everything goes as it seems it should, but when I type doctor, and press enter nothing happends.
 
ahhh bah! i just tried it and its doing it too me too!


well its supposed to be Star Wars but for some reason its not working?
