    The title says it all.

Please post your verified solution to making ECG available on non-US bought and non-US located phone and watch.

Guaranteed to work......sell your watch and phone, move to the US, and repurchase everything.

    You’re welcome!

Outside of using some already accredited device in your country that integrates with Healthkit etc. I think you will be stuck.

Getting approval on medical devices takes time and it seems that Apple isn't quite there with approvals outside of the USA. I'm wondering if even S5 will be approved in other countries for this kind of thing when it launches.

Go on eBay and import devices originally sold in the US.

I saw people writing that they have US apple watches, they live in usa, but now because they are outside Us they couldn’t get ecg today. So i think it’s something bassed on your location or something. I think the phone has to see that you are in US in order for ecg to appear.

Most of the reports I’ve seen are the opposite as long as the hardware was bought in the US you have the feature. I do wonder if you need both a phone and watch purchased in the US or just the watch.

Well, the app has to appear on your iphone in the apple watch app.. so i guess it has something to do with the phone also..

Ok now i understand.. there are two models of apple watches globally, it’s the us version like A1976 on a series 4 stainless steel, and the other one is the global, like for the same series 4 stainless steel version is 2008(like mine one).. so i think there is no chance my model and others non-us versions of apple watches will be getting ecg until it’s officialy released..

From what I gathered from Twitter, your phone can be any model, but your Apple Watch Series 4 must be a U.S. bought model. Then what you have to do is set the region for both your phone and watch to U.S. region.

For me personally, I haven't bought the Series 4 yet as I was waiting to see how the ECG feature works. Thankfully, Amazon now sells Apple products directly, which will come in handy!

I bought my watch from USA, but I live in Europe. Before updating I changed my watch location to US and just did my first ECG. I guess it is based on watch model number or something.
Oh and my Iphone is from Europe, so I guess only the watch must be from US.

One solution if it's so important to you to have an EKG. Get the Kardia band for Apple Watch. Available for a while now.

I purchased an Series 4 Apple Watch with LTE Cellular in the US only a few days ago, not realising that the LTE would not work on UK cellular networks. I was a little disappointed until the 5.1.2 osWatch update, when I found that the watch does have the ECG app activated.

Whilst the ECG is really cool, I believe I'd get better value out of having UK cellular. I've therefore posted the item on ebay in the hope I'll get £529 and be able to buy a UK cellular version. I don't think I'm allowed to post ebay links, but feel free to look if you're interested.

You're asking a question that does not have a solution. What else did you expect?

It will not take the pain away, but...

Non-U.S. users can use the ECG a little bit by putting their finger on the crown while using the Heart app... this will result in a better heart rate measurement because of a higher heart rate interval.

I think you have to get rid of all the lawyers first.

I think it’s down to space within the watch for antenna. iPhones have three different antenna and between them, they cover all the cellular frequencies. Because of space, the watches only have the antenna for the territory they’re sold in.

    You will find none!

Apple is doing what it agreed to do with each country/region.

Hi. Just the watch. I bought my iphone 7 in Brazil (where I live) and the AW I bought in US. The ECG is working pretty well.
    --- Post Merged, Dec 11, 2018 ---
It is not necessary to change the region. I live in Brazil, my iphone was bought in Brazil and even without changing anything at all, the ECG worked. The only need is the apple watch be an US model.

You may not get the ECG app but you can still make use of the electrodes by pressing on the crown with your finger tip and using the Heart Rate app on the latest firmware.

Despite the rumors, Apple only received clearance by the FDA to sell the ECG feature in the US. Therefore, the feature is limited to watches sold in the US.
