I can confirm that the c615 solves the issue.

I also noticed that the Facetime app would start to lag after a call with the C922 camera. After switching to the C615, the app works fine and there is no more echo.

Another thing I noticed, if I go to the Audio Devices app, the C615 has an option that goes up to 48,000 Hz whereas the C922 only went up to 32,000 Hz. The C615 was defaulted to 48,000 Hz while the C922 defaulted to 16,000 Hz.

Maybe macOS needs 48,000 Hz to do noise cancelling? Either that or this camera just has better noise cancelling built in.

Either way, I'm super happy I did this. It was half the price too!

FYI: This was on my Hackintosh.

So an update to my above post. If I use the mb pro's internal speakers, I don't get echo. If I route the audio over usb-c through the connected receiver, it echos. So I can use it but am forced to use internal speakers. This is a big without question. Especially because it doesn't happen with the same hardware using Skype.

Hi Lorenzo

You said that you were using a 2014 Mac.

The 2014 Mac has an analog microphone socket on the back which gives you an equivalent to a built in Mic.

A USB microphone will have lag which the mac cannot measure whereas an analog microphone has none. Any such lack makes noise cancelation pretty much impossible.

So, did you ever try an analog microphone with the 920?

Thanks for letting us know. I can confirm this works. Tried a Facetime call and there was no echo!
Hey macjunk(ie)! Thanks a lot for your confirmation - I just made a test call with my girlfriend (as this setup will be used at work as well - and an echo is not what you want during Zoom calls ;)) and it sadly didn´t change anthing.

This is what I hav currently installed:
LogiCameraSettings_3.0.23
Logi Capture Installer 2.04.8

My audio setup is:
Focusrite Scarlett 8i6
Desktop monitor speakers

Is there any setting I´v missed to set up? Do you have any idea what else I could try?

@inmnbob Did you find a solution in the meanwhile?

I have the same echo problem on all video apps as discussed aboveon my new Mac Studio. I Did not have this problem on my macpro(2013) but have it on the Mac Studio which I just purchased. I wonder if the culprit is the built in speaker on the Mac Studio. I use Bose speaker .

Posting from 2024 here. Read this thread and had exact same issue with basically all Logitech webcams. Didn't try c615 as I didn't want a decade old webcam in 2024. So I gave the Anker C200 (on Amazon for €60 at the time of writing, apparently released in 2023) a try and it seems to work perfectly, no longer any echo and 2k resolution.

So until Apple finally decides to implement software noise cancellation (don't hold your breath, they want you to buy their products with screens) I advise people to pick this one.
