There's no difference.

Plenty of people with Masters degrees are worthless in the work space. Plenty of people with *just* college degree rise to the top of their fields. And there are even some that only finished high school to go on to do great things. I don't want this thread to go off topic but what a ridiculous statement to make. Education is important and key but getting a Masters degree is certainly not the only way to do that and rise in the ranks.

Eddy Cue specifically, I agree he probably isn't the right person for the job but not because of the piece of paper he has/doesn't have.

I'm just making a point, at my job I'm accustomed to SVP, EVP's, and VP's as having at least a master's degree or doctorate degree in the field of which I work in (pharmaceuticals)... However it is pharmaceuticals after all, so a little more sophisticated than computer engineering.

I rather love MUSIC, and I know I'm not alone. Siri functionality is sweet! I've discovered so much new music in "For You". And Beats 1 is that old-fashioned "tune into your favorite broadcast" style radio brought into our era.
We'll just have to wait and see, but once they fix the bugs other people are having, streamline things here and there... people then may realize how wicked awesome it really is.

Now *that* is a scenario where people DO need advanced degrees. Doctors, Lawyers, anyone working in Medicine.

Can't beat family pricing for Music in Canada seeing as Spotify has completely abandoned their plans for rolling it out; selection is decent and system-level integration is hard to pass up.

To each their own but a question for all those that tried it out and decided to go back to Spotify after either a day, a week a month or whatever: Did you truly try Apple Music out? For the first two weeks I continued to use Spotify and Apple Music simultaneously but realized I would never get used to Apple Music if I kept using Spotify. I told myself that while Apple Music is free, I might as well cancel my Spotify subscription and solely use Apple Music. I'll now say after 3 months, Apple Music has me won over, especially because I have almost full control from my Apple Watch.

Thanks for the free trial Eddy, its been gr.. no its been buggy. Please make it stop asking me for my credit card details. cheers

Jut got charged 14,99 too but talked with apple and now waiting for my refund since i wasn't happy at all, songs pausing all the time, downloaded playlists doest work offline (which made me so so mad on a flight last week) and all sorts of other things, just no apple music.

Same problems on day one and I refused to give them credit card details cause I just knew they would charge first and ask questions later. Offline mode needs to be perfect for a mobile device and Spotify has it refined.

Going back to Spotify. Will give tidal a try first though.

If apple ever gives separate logins l would likely use again.

I listen to music at work and other places. Yes you can logout, but I'd rather use a service where my music password is associated with just that.

To Eddy cue: "What he smiling at" :p Maybe he should open his eyes and see just how many users turned "off" auto renewal..

Maybe users could decide to pay when they want to..... but there is a reason why they turned it off in the first place.... and i doubt it because of manual payment, when its more convenient to leave auto renewal on.

I truly tried to make Apple Music work for me. It has a good selection, but the interface of the music app and the way it messes up your existing music (Cloud Library) is just not working for me. I was seriously debating keeping it but canceled right before billing would go into effect.

I am not a voracious music listener. I like classical. I could not find full length pieces with ease. It started playing random stuff. I am not going to pay $9.99 for this. Plus a lot of people hate the new UI. What happened to my large thumb nails of albums. Now it is just a big long list. There is no landscape mode.

That's an interesting question. I'm sometimes wondering what lifestyle those, who have so much time that they need all the music in the world permanently at their fingertips, are cultivating; or what job they have.

I have 20 min of commute and usually tune in to a news channel (France Info) since this is the only time of the day I can do it. Then I work my hours in an open-space office spending a lot of time in calls wearing a headset. So when I get to do some sport over noon, I actually like to be "unplugged". And at home, there's noisy kids - and don't get me started on these weekends ;) So when would I get my money's worth out of an :apple:Music subscription? During air travel when there's no network? On train rides when there's none half of the time? I'd rather much have my offline/on-the-iPhone music work flawlessly when I actually have the precious time to enjoy it.

Funny... - Reading through the comments, it seems like most of those who plan to stay do so because of the Family Plan. Must be one of the rare times where Apple is obliged to compete on (sticker) price to get its stuff/services sold.

Yesterday I couldn't play any Apple Music tracks while on LTE. And I kept getting pop-ups to subscribe even though I am already a subscriber. I would go back to Spotify if they had an Apple Watch app and allowed playlist to be synced to the watch.

No you wouldn't. :p

If I buy family account, can i create playlist that my wife and my daughter wont see and vice versa?

Can't stand all songs downloaded by my wife that I also see on my iphone because we both use a single account

Seeing my lady dance to all her favorite songs everyday is reason enough to pay for Apple Music.

From the link to the LoopInside blog higher up above:

"Apple said my music was never deleted and that it was in the cloud the entire time. Before Apple Music, iTunes Match would show me all of my songs—matched, uploaded, and purchased. However, if you turn off iCloud Music Library and Apple Music, iTunes Match will only show your purchased content now. There is no way to separate iTunes Match from the iCloud Music Library. Before, you would turn off iTunes Match—now you would turn off iCloud Music Library.

So now I have the iTunes Match service that I pay for separately, and Apple Music, both of which use iCloud Music Library. There is really no way to get away from them if you want to use the latest and greatest from Apple.
"

I really cannot be bothered to waste my precious time to understand what iTunes Match, Apple Music and iCloud Music respectively do (let's throw in music previously purchased from multiple iTunes stores or other online vendors or ripped from owned CDs and streaming radio stations for good measure). I think the "music engineers" at Apple should interview their customer about their understanding of all these modalities - I guess it would be a sobering experience.

BTW: I feel that for the management of photos, Apple has now become just as convoluted as for music. I'm staying away from it and cutting&pasting my new iPhone photos from time to time for offline saving.

So many comments about how no one knows anyone who likes Apple Music. Myself and 3 of my friends absolutely love Apple Music and I like the way it integrates with my massive local iTunes library. The UI could use some work as it's a bit convoluted but overall Apple Music is much better than Spotify.

Apples brand strength is so great, they ship this dreadful Apple Music project well before its debugged, polished and ready. All without experiencing any significant pushback from the Apple devotees. The contrast between good Apple products and Apple Music is quite glaring.

It was the one option that made me consider Apple Music in the first place. However, I didn't find it to be of any use to me...so if the wife ever decides that she wants it back. Well she can pay for it herself.

Safe to say, we didn't Auto Renew in my house.

Sorry Eddy! ;)

I canceled yesterday and went back to Spotify. Apple hasn't updated or fixed the UI since Music launched way back in the summer. You still can't even create a new playlist from a song or album page. Spotify also doesn't have the weird greyed out track issue.

Oh, and $4.99/mo. for students :D
Me too. Except I went back to my offline iTunes library instead of Spotify. One less expense each month. Thanks for the 3 months of free music, Apple.

I didn't renew it. I found out I can easily keep a large playlist of songs on my 64GB model and Apple music would cost $120 each year, for $100 I could buy the 128GB model and keep even more songs on the device.
I did upgrade my iCloud storage space for $1 a month though, is more affordable and very handy

$9.99 = £6.59 plus VAT at 20% is £7.91 so they probably added on a bit to cover rate fluctuations and UK record deals.

I understand VAT. Thats perfectly fine. Although Euro countries have the same or higher VAT rate and still significantly lower cost of the service.

£2.08 to cover rate fluctuations? WTF? They normally increase price rapidly if the rate changes. Not sure about UK record deals. I think there is single catalogue. UK content is available worldwide and EU countries must have their special content too and still have a significantly lower subscription price. Why only the UK customers should pay for these extra record deals?

This is a customer rip off. They just wanted a £9.99 price tag because they can.
