With Telia in Copenhagen, DK:
I did 5 separate tests.
1. 416 Kbps
2. 387 Kbps
3. 598 Kbps
4. 520 Kbps
5. 551 Kbps

That seems pretty damn fast to me.

I'm running some tests as well.
10 tests done one after the other. On Edge, with 4 bars, central Minnesota, USA (ish)
Average of the tests is 186 kbps

Where I am, we recently finally got an AT&T tower (before I had no service on my campus) and I only use edge data for email and web pages, ect. My school uses wpa2 enterprise, so I cannot connect to their wireless (and they use Bradford as a client, so they block personal wireless routers  )

But after these tests, and my usage for the past 2 months with the new tower; I have nothing to complain about when it comes to Edge data.

the EDGE speeds completely depend on where you are at. i've tested it out while on the road with my band. in some areas you get really good speeds... in other areas it is painfully slow.

so to those who have fast EDGE speeds in the US, consider yourself lucky! ;)

same here. depending on where i'm at it can be pretty damn fast and some places ridiculously slow. depends on the tower and number of people connected i guess.

Been trying again today, and I'm failing to get anywhere below 300kbps for GPRS full bars. Can't wait to find out what my EDGE speed is!

Wow, on 4 bars I've had:

440.6
354.9
431.3
394.8
434.1

That's pretty much the same speed as my work's wifi, which is on two bars. If I'm further away from my desk then I'll be using Edge, wow never thought I'd say that!

Plus I'm in a city centre so that's why those edge results are so high. So 450kbps is pretty good, didn't that used to be near the standard for broadband? Most people have 2mbps now.

I am getting 410kbps at inetworktest and 734kbps at i.dslr.net/tinynetworktest.html but my pages load slow as molasses.

I've ran the test in a now EDGE area where I'm relying on GPRS and it rates as 107kbps. At home and during the journey home the signal is mainly always on EDGE and I will test it there tonight and post the results here.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/3B48a Safari/419.3)

On Edge I tested the connection at 241kbps making it over double the 107kbps speed of my GPRS test.
