This is not completely true.
The order of messages could be different.

yeah legal reasons is the only possible logic around itI understand it being visible to the sender, but not the recipient.
But I think this change might be due to legal reasons. I could see people abusing it.
legal reasons this makes better sense actually…Then the feature is pointless, gosh
So abusers rule the world and how the entire humanity uses technology. So people who are abused have a record of the abuse.
So make editing unavailable after the other person replies.A: Would you like an apple?
B: Yes.
Cannot be changed to:
A: Would you give me a million dollars?
B: Yes.
You're glad they made it a pointless feature?I think these are responsible changes to the feature set. I’m glad they added it.
Then just remove the Edit feature altogether? This can already be done using Undo Send.So make editing unavailable after the other person replies.
Those who want an edit button on Twitter do.Do people really care about typos or other general errors?
Editing until a reply would still save you from retyping the entire message I guessThen just remove the Edit feature altogether? This can already be done using Undo Send.
Or just copy and paste?Editing until a reply would still save you from retyping the entire message I guess
Agreed. What's the point of having an "Edit" option if it's going to show the original text?
Apple should give users permission to add that feature into the messages app. Otherwise, it should not show the user has made any changes by default.
I like the idea of being able to see edits, though I think Apple should add a way to "collapse" the edits into a smaller area, with some kind of icon indicating that it has edit history.
I’d have to agree 100%. If this is the way it’s released I’d have to say this ranks up there as one of the dumbest features Apple has ever released. So why edit it?
