The EFI update along with 2 other updates (iWork & Security) seemed to install fine on my 15" i7 machine. During restart however, just before the EFI was flashed... I got a long beep along with rapidly flashing led for a few secs. Anyone know what this is?

Freaked the hell out of me when it did that

15" i7 installed fine

Hmm. Im sorry to say that I just experienced problems with my mbp after the update. I have a 30" screen connected via apple minidisplayport to dual dvi-adaptor.

It has worked fine for weeks and I thought it worked even better without any flicker after the efi-update. But now the screen just got extremely worse.

See attatched pictures.

(After a reset of the cable the screen was back to normal)

I'm pretty that's because the adapter is a POS. I had the same issue using the adapter on a Mac Pro; the only fix was a replace the adapter (through warranty).

Possible but I have already exchanged one for the one I have now. It has been perfect since April or June and just started to make this noise after the efi-update. But it has only appeared once so I hope it will stay good now =)

If you got the "not compatible" message trying to apply this update, download it again. Apple posted a new file, and it worked for me where the previous one didn't. They have a message to that effect on the download page.

Thanks for the heads up. It worked for me now (mid-2010 15" MBP i7, SSD)

Thanks for the update on that!

Guys, make sure your MBP is hooked up to the power source before installing. It will not tell you if it failed or installed. The only way to know if your ROM version ends in .B0C.

So far it looks like it does fix something with the dynamic switching. I have now set it to dynamic switching and no freezing yet.
