Yeah but what if these were just spec bumps for some Intel based Macs ? The 'last intel' iMacs seem to have been popular, maybe they're going to do the same for the Mini and others.

Now THIS is exciting

Anyone know what the three familiar model numbers refer to?

okay two of them are the 16 inch. Could the 16 inch be getting updated with Apple silicon?

I could be wrong but I can’t imagine the top pro machines being the first to get Apple Silicon, my thought is they will wait for the 16 inch and Mac Pro for last. It’s possible they both get an Intel spec bump before Apple Silicon.
It’s also possible that the new AS Macs get new names that are released along side the Intel counterparts.

Unlikley, but a top down release would be an interesting marketing approach too. Would get all the questions of how it would compare to Intle dealt with right up front.

Following the announcement of Apple Silicon at WWDC earlier this year, Apple CEO Tim Cook said that the first Apple Silicon Macs would be arriving before the end of 2020.

Nope, what Tim said at WWDC is that he Expects the first AS mac to be released by the end of this year.

Very intriguing indeed. Iphone might be the star today, but starting tomorrow. the Macbook will be the MVP.

10nm Tiger Lake H chips launch Q1 2021 so I doubt Apple would launch an updated Intel MacBook Pro 16" Q2. I think our current 16" is the final Intel 16", but I could be wrong.

16" with 10th gen Intel and w/o the GPU usage problem in models with the baseline GPU, please!

X10000, I have a pile of useless 16" MacBook pros that don't work with USB-c external displays for more than a couple hours without completely locking up. We have reverted back to the latest version of the 15". It is so frustrating for what they things cost.

A two hour event focusing on iPhones is a bit much, I’m thinking Tim is going to surprise us w/ a one more thing and announce the faster mac w/ Apple Silicone. 😃

The 16" MacBook Pro is still on 9th Generation 14nm Coffee Lake Refresh CPUs. So these new SKUs are likely the 10th Generation 14nm Comet Lake CPUs.

So:

i7-9750H is replaced with i7-10750H
i9-9880H and i9-9980HK are replaced with i9-10980HK

If they release a MBP 16" with Apple Silicon, I will not be looking to get one. I would rather see a Macbook 12/13" with Apple Silicon so I can use that as a testbed without compromising my workflow on my current MBP 16"

Time will tell.

My guess are these might be the remaining products to be announced at the November event.

-Apple Silicon Macs
-Airpods Studio
-AppleTV
-Airtags (maybe)

Normally an iphone event wouldn't be much more either, tell the name, price, show the specs on screen for a minute, then goodbye. Yet they strech it out with shitmojis and slow-mo videos during which I fall asleep two times.
How about those awful demos they put on?
