The headline will be: Apple hacked.
Who cares that you need a device, and the password, and a SIM card, to make it happen.

Just you wait ...

Withose boundary conditions my grandma could open every account and she’s been dead 20 years.

Was this a late April fools joke?

if a bad actor has gained access to another person's Apple ID credentials, your passcode, and at least one of your Apple devices, or your SIM card, there arguably isn't really much the company can do at that point to protect you.

That is a lot of information and equipment the bad guy needs. Agree there is not much any company could do to protect you.

Thats nothing, GunToTheHead Inc can access any of your data in just a matter of minutes. They simply break down your door and apply their patent pending GunToTheHead technology to achieve 100% user compliance for guaranteed system penetration.

Home exploit in the wild! If an attacker has your home address, a copy of your front door key, and your alarm code, they may be able to gain access to your home. OMG.

-Hey, do you want to see how I hack into your iPhone?
-I am sure, you can't do that.
-Sure I can! If you please hand me over your phone? Thanks, and I need your passcode too. ...BOOM, I'M IN!
-UNBELIEVABLE, how did you do this?!
-Piece of cake. Now watch me, as I break into your iCloud account. I just need two things, namely your account name and your password ...DOUBLE BOOM, I'M IN!
-YOU ARE A WIZARD!!!

I need a break from the internet, because you read more and more crap lately.

What I don't get is that why MR bothered writing an article about this crap.
Oh yeah, page views.

So, if you are you, and you have some extra tech knowledge to use on yourself, you can get your data. Good to know.

Breaking: Nuclear codes can be accessed. *Under certain conditions.

1. You have access to the nuclear codes.
2. You have access to the nuclear buttons.
3. You have authorization from Congress.

So after re-reading the article a couple of times, I THINK that the “big deal” here is that the software can access your iMessages in the cloud, even after they’re deleted from your device. It sounds like it’s able to access encrypted iMessage backups.

But again, if they have your password, passcode, and your physical device... you have a LOT more to worry about than someone reading your old messages.

Ah nice, maybe I can use this to see my messages since my iPhone seems to be unable to sync them properly in the first place

That's my take on it as well. Which really moves it from the "useless news" column over to the "basically, still useless news" column. It's like worrying about a thief being able to access my truck (with the keys to the car obviously) while ignoring the possibility that he could drive off with the car.

getting access to imessage while you have a trusted device is no big thing. but having access to them afterwards, this got some minerals!
they seem only to need the trusted device to activate their stuff, and they will have access to all your imessages (even the ones you send afterwards) through messages in the cloud
