to anyone who finds this "news" concerning: please feel free to send me your bank account number and password. I definitely can't do anything without an advanced software!

lol why is this news??
That's a really cute avatar. :D

Obviously this is comical, but there are parallels.

Isn’t it funny that it use to be Apple vs. Jailbreak community trying to gain access to the system, now it’s Apple vs. “security” companies that are trying to gain access to the device.

Both are/were trying to exploit the system, the difference is for who’s benefit.

The integrity of this article and potentially the writer is up for question. I'm sorry if I am offending anyone but the title contains the word "Allegedly"...

ElcomSoft's Latest Tool Can Allegedly Access iMessages in iCloud, But Only in Extreme Circumstances

Most folks know that if you have this information then "Allegedly" is not the issue. The title should have read

ElcomSoft's marketing team is trying to convince suckers to pay money for a service that can be perfomed by anyone with a brain!

Glad to see the comments reflect what I was thinking.

"Security researchers today found that if you have someone's private SSH key, know the password to unlock it, have access to white-listed IP address, and know the user's administrative password, you can break into a server and cause a bunch of problems."

Nothing will ever be as secure as local storage. I always find it ridiculous when I hear about foreign governments (mainly China and Russia) hacking the systems of defense contractors. Why is sensitive r&d material kept on machines connected to the Internet? Stuff with sensitive data should remain on a closed network.

I don't understand this story, but I loved this part:

"Apple obviously cares very deeply about the security of its customers[…]"

I am grateful that Apple is so emotionally invested in and selflessly benevolent toward all of us. This sounds even worse than a press release.

lol... They have to tell that every time to re-assure people....

One day, it may actually sink in. This also why i don't use iCloud message because i don't wanna use 2-factor.

This makes me think I should offer professional hacking services.

I'm expensive, but then again, I can get into anything I want (**).

Nothing is safe from me (**).

Anything you want me to, I hack (**).

Contact via PM. Serious offers only.

(**) provided I have the account name, password, 2FA device, and maybe one or two more things

I take it as an advertisement, that their software has the feature to access message logs outside of Message.app, rather than claiming some sort of security breach.

So you're saying if someone has my devices and my password they can access my data?

I feel like I must be missing something...

Think macrumors must’ve been hacked. This isn’t a story.

If this company / group is worthy of celebrity for their hacking skillls, then I should be internationally renowned for my lock picking skills. I’ve been able to unlock any lock I’ve had the key for. Even if it wasn’t my lock.

Is this a joke? I mean I dont need any special software to get all of that if I have access to a device, passcode, Apple ID and password, and 2FA.

Is their software download 0 KB’s?

So let me get this straight,

If I give them two of my devices the passcode for both of them and my iCloud account and password, they will get my information!?

If I give that to my grandma she can get it as well huahuauhahuahua

Apple is the company that cares the most!

The jailbreak community sold users data and installed malicious software as well, no saints there!
