You guys should look up the company that you're dealing with. The owner is a designer who created protective equipment for automotive sports. After movig out of that market and as an owner of an iPhone he saw potential for creating cases that were unique, high quality, and durable. Thus his liquid case display line. Those cases however were not as widely popular, this serving a niche in the market. They were very well received.
Now he has created the vapor, which was immediately gobbled up by the press and "adoring" apple fans. Obviously his company could not keep up with demand. No he's not some guy in his garage. But it is a sort of mom and pop op. I think he faced the trouble ofmeetig demand and finishing the product. Yes. His fault (their fault). By still this is a company that grew from the ground up. They are obviously attending to issues one at a time, without the resources of larger case manufacturers. So, my point then. If you don't like the way these issues are being dealt with, then fine, cancel your order. You should. This is a capitalist society. Your money speaks, and in your cancelation request tell them why. I am sure these cases will continue to improve, and I'm sure these guys are learning from their **** ups. You can alway reorder when these guys have reconfigured to give the kind of service you expect.
As for "my hundred dollar should blah blah blah" no, it shouldn't. I actually operate a lathe at a machine shop. This kind of detailed work on a small object, that easily bends of a soft metal would require 35-45 minutes of machining, plus anodization and final assembly. In California the machining would cost between 20-30 bucks, plus the anodization process, plus the material and shipping costs. And inspection. You are paying for a case. Not a hand to wipe your chin when you drool.
P.s. Literally I applaud the people who cancelled their orders, it's much preferable to the people who whine incessantly.
