I'd like to know that too. This Cablejive cable looks like the closest fit.

That actually looks much too big. I would suggest something thinner like:

http://cgi.ebay.com/DOCK-EXTENDER-E.../310241014621?pt=Other_MP3_Player_Accessories

I think that would fit the bill. You never know though, I could be wrong.

Now I thought this just might fit the bill.

I'm tempted to order it. They Just released an adaptor yesterday for I the IPhone that I have to use in my job so if the extender doesn't fit I cannot use the case love or hate it.

love duracoat on anything! does the reception improve? i dunt think so but its worth a try?

do you have to do any sanding to do a duracoat or is it essential a spray can job?

That looks like my Springfield. Don't drop it at the range .You'll never find it.:D

I've duracoated a cheap folder knife and it came out pretty cool (I carry a Strider SMF). Never thought to duracoat a bumper! that's cool!

Well, I understand that an aluminum case may hurt reception, but the more I just play around with my Vapor, the more that I realize that the aluminum can actually touch the metal antenna of the iPhone 4 directly. The padding is very sparse on the side where the antennas meet, and it (the foam padding) deforms very easily and doesn't rebound once the phone is removed. So it appears that it basically collapses after the initial install (the little sheets of what appear to be thin weatherstripping foam are already thin as hell to begin with). Not to mention that the aluminum on the sides is very thin, and a squeeze on the case (doesn't take a gorilla-like squeeze either) will deflect the sides enough to bend the case itself against the antenna. So I'm wondering how much of the reception issue may come from the case touching the antenna directly. I really wish the Vapor would have ended up with the complete padding all the way around the antenna like the original renders showed.

Yes. When I first read the release on the website, the wording led me to believe that the inside coating was everywhere, not just the four corners. Was disappointing to see the initial reports here as to the reality of the case, versus the impression you get from the website. It still looks very cool, but I'm mostly looking for something to help with the attenuation issues while retaining the look of the phone, not make it worse. I dislike almost all case options out there because they almost all hide the phone.

I was hoping that this one might work out, but am now really doubting that I'll order it when I someday get my turn (who knows when that will be).

since the foam inside the vapour is not what they claim to be super high tech shock absorbing material. Is it possible for the end user to line vapour with foam from the craft store himself? Just having the foam there would greatly help the signal problem

The original send station dock extender is too big for the apple bumper so I doubt it would work. I just ordered an iExtend slim extender for the apple bumper that is supposed to work. I got it from value outfitters.com I think!

Will let you know if it works with the apple bumper because if it does i imagine it will also work with the vapor.

Ok guys, who wants my silver one?

Yesterday on my road trip I have confirmed that GPS signal is so degraded with the bumper on that it is useless while driving.

I rely on my iPhone's gps as I travel a lot and don't want to have to carry multiple devices.

I'll sell it at cost, the only catch is that the soonest I can ship will be Wednesday.

If you are interested PM me, first come first served.

I'd like an all wood case that looks like the Vapor.

Made from a very hard wood.

Like Macassar:

Have you tried a skin around the metal band first or some tape to see if that helps prior to selling the case? I am still waiting for the preorder number but I have ordered skins for around the metal edge in the meantime. I'm really hoping that this would help.

I put a tactical OD green Duracoat on mine. :D

Nice job!!! I've used Duracoat myself on aluminum engine parts for my classic restoration project with excellent results. It never crossed my mind to use it on the Vapor case. It looks good though. I've always been to nervous about using it on any of my weapons though.

Okay.

After considering the many good reviews on the Vapor4 I've decided to sell my Black/Black/Carbon or return it unopened.

There are times I have to execute a trade (how I make my living) with the iPhone and I just can't afford any diminished reception whatsoever. 99.9% of the time it won't be an issue, but ...

I'm sorry to not have this sexy beast on my phone. :(

Do you like the smell of rich mahogany and leather bound books?
Uh, no, but ...

I don't always drink beer, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis ( while seated comfortably in fine Corinthian leather.)

I'm partial to a fine Pinot Noir myself . . .

Asleep, that was my logic too in deciding to cancel my order before it shipped. It is a beautiful case but signal it is just not worth signal degradation IMHO.
I figured it would be easier to get a refund if the case had not already shipped. Which turns out not to be true.

I'm starting to wonder who is actually keeping their case? Seems like a fair number of returns or sales going on, even of V2.

I wonder if they are getting a lot of return inquires? I sent a question and for first time got an auto message in return:

Thank you for contacting ElementCase. It's really sad. I think they have a gold mine on their hands if they can get a few bugs worked out. It's one case that doesn't subtract from the looks of the IPhone 4. The sleekness of the IPhone 4 appeals to many and hiding it in a bulky case that covers it up diminishes the experience of owning the worlds slimmest smart phone. The most recent apple update has totally wrecked Bluetooth reception. Also my new phone doesn't perform any faster even with twice the ram ( Apple get an update out soon, please ) I wonder if it has hurt 3G as well. My 3GS had 5 bars here at home and my IPhone 4 has 2. I know they readjusted the math to give a more accurate signal but I for one never concidered the bars or even really looked at them until all the bad press came out.
I haven't heard anyone say if they noticed a reduction in wifi performance.

I was watching the bars as I was typing my last post there and had fluction from 1 bar to 4 bars sitting in the same seat. I totally don't understand how that's possible. I'm not death gripping it. I really don't think I can put any faith in what my bars are saying. It doesn't seem to matter how many bars I have my phone works.

Hey noDe. Do you have any kind of protective skin around your antenna? I've read a couple of post where a skin ( lucky labs ) for example was being used and the GPS worked the same with or without the vapor.
