I guess you're supposed to put it in a glass box once it's on the phone.......to prevent "Improper care".....
after a weeks of usage... normal use etc etc. my royal purple color fades!!! what a disappointment! I tried emailing element case but this is what they came back to me :
"Thank you for contacting Element Case.
Improper care for the case will deteriorate the coating. The aluminum portion of the case is anodized, dyed and is run through a final seal/coating process. The anodic oxide coating and the nickel acetate seal bonds the dye on your case and is very tough and resistant. However, the aluminum is soft and the hard coating can only resist as much.
Unnoticeable daily activities may lessen the life of the hard oxide coating:
1. Placing the iPhone inside the pocket - when the case rubs consistently with the fabric on your jeans/pants, the friction causes the coating to weaken.
2. Placing the iPhone in your pocket with your keys or loose change - the constant hitting of hard objects on the case may weaken the coating.
I hope this helps. "
I'm like wth... my pockets are always empty just for my phone, and i always use air compressor to blow away dust from my pocket to make sure not a single speck of dust stays in my pocket. Yet the color still fades.
I have to say i expect the quality of this case should be higher than what i pay, because I'm from malaysia and the price i'm paying after converting from US dollars is sky high.
How's everyone Else's royal purple holding up?

lol yeah, I guess maybe thats the reason why they include another pouch for their epiphany edition? to prevent "improper care"?
I mean, what's the point of getting the case when the paint's gonna come off in less than a week? For a premium price alu bumper i'd really expect high quality than 1 week wear off paint .![]()
Have you contacted Element? I did and they are going to refund my money.
Funny. I paint cars for a living and was thinking of airbrushing mine to a shade closer to my Chevelle. But contacted Element first. I have since ordered a fake Royal Purple as I'm currently using a Fake Vapor Pro Spectra and believe it or not it actually fits better then my Element did.
So I will see in a few weeks how the fake compares to the real Royal. And even if it has the same issues I can't complain for $22.

I would also love to see some pics. But I'd imagine due to the high price there probably aren't a whole lot of them out there. Let alone on this forum.
Six of one, half dozen of the other.
Please do post photos once your fake royal purple has arrived, am considering to purchase it too, did u purchase it from caseswill?
Could you post some pics of the fading? I keep mine in my pocket all day.![]()
another problem i noticed in the last picture is that the two pieces don't line up properly.
Correct. I didn't notice how bad it actually was until I got my Vapor Pro from Caseswill. It actually fits much better. Go figure.
just curious, i saw someone saying that by readjusting the foams in the vapor pro actually helps the case fit better, anyone one of you here done this before? any help would be greatly appreciated thanks![]()
I don't know whether i should be saying this but, i saw the person from xtrucase (another alluminum bumper case company) actually claims that Element outsources their products... now this might have be some sort of proof why there are fakes out there too?
same case with the otterbox, because they outsource their products thats the reason you get counterfeits everywhere... do correct me if i'm wrong
There's no reason why you should be worried saying that, this forum is for just that.
Theres definitely a chance that these cases are outsourced. I only have a real vapor pro so I can't say, but according to many on this forum the fakes are just as good as the real thing.
Sorry the pics is not the best quality, took it with my iPhone 4, see the red circle there? thats the part where the color fades off. Now i'm starting to worry whether the same fate will happen to my vapor comp arctic camo... to put things worst its limited edition.
Yeah indeed, but i don't think i would buy any elements in the future as the iPhone 5 is coming out soon... i guess? even if i'd get a new one i would head to caseswill for the fakes...![]()
I have a vapor pro r8 and as much as I loved it, in the end the fact that it required screws was a deal breaker for me. Luckily I had received a perfect case without all the issues others seem to have. That said, I have been through a few different aluminum cases and I have to say that the Xtrucase is the best ever. No screws, high quality, and a fraction of the price. I got my r8 as a present, but I think I would trade it in for 2-3 xtrucases (price wise that's the equivalent) if I could.
Anyone looking for the "perfect" aluminum case check it out. They are also currently making attachments such as a back plate that slides in instead of the bumper piece.
Sorry if thats considered thread jacking, but it seems like there are quite a few unsatisfied element customers. I used to defend buying the real thing, but it's getting very hard to do that lol. And there is a much much better aluminum bumper out there![]()
