and GORE-TEX

To be more precise, Gore-Tex is a membrane, usually laminated to an outer fabric layer that is most often made of nylon or polyester. Most garments also have an inner layer that helps protect the Gore-Tex membrane from body oils and abrasion. This inner layer is also made from nylon or polyester, or some kind of mesh in the vast majority of garments.

So, saying TagVault:Fabric adheres to Gore-Tex doesn’t really mean anything. In a “3-layer” Gore-Tex garment, the wearer can’t even see or touch the Gore-Tex. In “2-layer” or “2.5-layer” garments, sticking something on the membrane is stupid because a holder’s adhesive could damage the membrane. Further, the holder will block the breathability of Gore-Tex wherever is is stuck. To me, then, TagVault’s marketing angle shows a critical lack of knowledge.

hmmmm….I can do 400 for 8.99

From the article: “Note that the AirTag can be removed from the TagVault without having to remove the TagVault from the item.”
I’m amazed at how lazy people can be, to complain about a product based on a forum post, when they even provide a direct link to the page that shows the product. Even if the answer is in the article they won’t read it, but they hardly ever go to the product page.

Not on my AU$45 airtags I won’t. I’d rather spend $400 on a Hermes AirTag holder than that rubbish.

Have you even looked at their website? For bike riders, there is a really good mount.

This product seems pointless for me, but for others, it may be quite useful. The price is reasonable if the market decides it is.
I think the market may have spoken. It's been available on Amazon since August 2, 2022, and there are zero ratings and reviews for it.

Meanwhile, every single other product they have available have ratings and reviews such as the TagVault AirTag Surface Mount (available since February 17, 2022, and has 894 rating) and the TagVault AirTag Strap Mount (available since August 1, 2022, and has 173 ratings).

The same applies to product reviews on Elevation Lab's own web site... zero reviews for this item but plenty of reviews for every single other AirTag product.

I think they're just saying that if you're doing the "stupid" thing it will still stick reliably.

I have to say, that's a pretty nice design.

For my suitcases, I just unzip the inner lining and drop it between the lining and the shell. I'm sure it's rattling around in there but whatever.

Very cool indeed! Do I understand correctly though that you'd need a new one every time you change the battery?

Man knows his Gore-Tex. 🤨

If you click the link to their site, they have several pictures showing that it is actually a holder with a cap that is removable to remove the tag. I don’t have AirTags, so I’m not the target market, but the multiple people complaining about the cost inspired me to actually click the link, just because I couldn’t understand the complaints on a site that mentions what I would consider some pretty crazy expensive watch bands. Seems like a reasonable product, at least compared to some of the other stuff featured. Certainly not just double sided tape.
