and GORE-TEX
To be more precise, Gore-Tex is a membrane, usually laminated to an outer fabric layer that is most often made of nylon or polyester. Most garments also have an inner layer that helps protect the Gore-Tex membrane from body oils and abrasion. This inner layer is also made from nylon or polyester, or some kind of mesh in the vast majority of garments.
So, saying TagVault:Fabric adheres to Gore-Tex doesn’t really mean anything. In a “3-layer” Gore-Tex garment, the wearer can’t even see or touch the Gore-Tex. In “2-layer” or “2.5-layer” garments, sticking something on the membrane is stupid because a holder’s adhesive could damage the membrane. Further, the holder will block the breathability of Gore-Tex wherever is is stuck. To me, then, TagVault’s marketing angle shows a critical lack of knowledge.
