ElevationLab today announced the launch of an updated version of its popular Elevation Dock for the iPhone, adding new features like a wider design to accommodate the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus, new lateral supports for improved stability, and a built-in Apple-certified Lightning connector.

The Elevation Dock originated on Kickstarter in 2012, and quickly became a popular choice for iPhone owners. The company released an Elevation Dock 2 able to support the iPhone 5, 5c, 5s, and 6, but the Elevation Dock 3 is the first dock that works with Apple's bigger iPhone 6 Plus and iPhones with thick cases. It's also the first Elevation Dock that does not require the buyer to supply a Lightning cable.

Along with above-mentioned feature additions, the Elevation Dock 3 is also available in new finishes, adding Bright Polished Red and Cerulean Blue to the existing silver and black aluminum finishes.

Elevation Dock 3 can be purchased from the ElevationLab website for $89 to $99, depending on finish. Orders will ship out immediately.

If they made one out of wood (preferably - or plastic), I'd buy it.

There's a good reason why all Apple iPhone docks to date have been made from plastic and not metal. :)

I was going to question why a dock is £70/£80 but after watching the video I think it's probably worth it just for time saving

Sadly no iPad compatibility, pass. Looks nice though, may look aesthetically pleasant next to an iMac or MacBook.

I have the watch, the phone, and the pad. I am still looking for the perfect solution to charge all three. No one has yet to create a dock for the watch and phone that uses only one cable (i am giving up on a dock for all three).

This product looks great, but they are selling something for the watch seperately. If they did something that was integrated I would be all over it. I have seen a couple of docks on amazon that will do both, but not sturdy and still require separate cables.

Nothing against this product as it looks fantastic (even if a bit expensive), but I will continue to wait until I find the right solution for me.

There are several metal iPhone docks that work just fine. You just need a bit of padding where the phone rests against it, assuming you're not using a case.

Work just fine = user dependent.

You're assuming that, 100% of the time (including when not wearing glasses, drunk, tired - or, as is usually the case, all three), I can successfully manoeuvre the iPhone to the lightning connector - in close proximity to the metal body of the dock - without accidentally knocking (or bashing or slamming) the iPhone into the metal part. Experience tells me different.

This is an assumption that Apple has never chosen to make - not even with the very latest iPhone dock, which was evidently many months in the making.

The same issue applies to Apple Watch stands. I simply cannot fathom why so many Apple Watch stands have been made from aluminium. They are just very bad accidents that are waiting to happen.

The part of the video that shows this dock in comparison to Apple's dock made me laugh out loud. Just goes to show how shoddy that new Lightning dock Apple's peddling is.

What is that reason? I have the last generation model for the iPhone 5 and it was unbelievablely awesome- I just ordered this one today as soon as I received the announcement it was done so I can dock my iPhone 6

looks very nice and compelling, but also very expensive. Not sure I want to justify $90 for an iPhone stand.

Looks great, but the video made me laugh. At 37 seconds in when the guy gently pokes the iPhone in the Elevation dock and then practically stabs the iPhone in the Apple dock, followed by shaking the phone off of the Apple dock reminded me why I enjoy product videos so much. :D

I do love the look of these, and the older ones worked very well back in the day with my iPhone 4S and iPhone 5. That said, I wish they'd changed the design to remove the front lip. The introduction of Touch ID means you want to be able to get a fingerprint to the home button as opposed to just the tip of the finger, and the somewhat redundant front lip that hugs the home button quite closely makes that awkward when the phones docked.

I *may* consider getting one for work where I'm more likely to pick the phone up, but for the bedside table I'll likely stick to a Twelve South Hi-Rise as it makes using Touch ID so much easier which helps with disengaging alarm clocks and doing quick glances of emails or whatever while in bed without undocking the device. It helps that it's cheaper too.

If they removed the front lip to the dock they'd probably have a solution that worked with iPads also.

Have you checked out this dock combination on Kickstarter? This might be something that fits your needs. The backing ends in about a week. Very similar to Elevation Dock and has magnetic connection for Apple Watch integration. However, you still need two cords for obvious reasons.

I have owned a few of these docks for my iPhone 4/4s, 5/5s and still use for my 6. Great looking product and only has a few downfalls. With the implementation of TouchID, I do think the front lip does need to go down lower to access the TouchID. Maybe they improved this, but hard to tell in the pictures and videos.

Lastly, I wish they would incorporate some sort of faint LED lighting in the bottom or near the back bumper so you can easily see when docking in dark conditions next to the bedside. I often hit the dock and worry about scratching my phone/dock when trying to place it just right in the complete dark while laying down.

I completely agree. As I mentioned in a reply to "Cuban Missles", that is one of the two major downfalls of Elevation Dock. It is hard to tell by the pictures, but maybe they improved the lip.

I have the original Elevation Dock, with a lightning adaptor and nanopad bought separately for it, it sits on my bedside table and I have never been so drunk, without glasses or tired that I couldn’t dock my phone with ease.

I also backed the Elevation Stand on Kickstarter, when it finally arrived I was chuffed to bits with it and now use it regularly.

I’m considering upgrading to the 6S+ so I’ll probably end up buying this dock when that phone is announced, try and sync up the arrival times as best I can.

Just wish they’d make an iPad dock, their stuff is beautiful and works so nicely with my desk setup…

I think the biggest problem with this company is their EXTREME delays (that's putting it very very mildly) in getting products out to customers. They've had issues getting Kickstarter funded products out to early adopters in any sort of reasonable time frame. And when products are then opened up to the general public who's not funders, but just customers - there have been 2-3 months delays with little to no updates and then upon the new availability date arrival, the product is immediately re-delayed another 2-3 months.

I have to agree completely, I think it was almost a year for me to get my stand. Once a product is established however, they are normally pretty quick.

This one is nice and I have seen it before. However, the one called out by Mdelvecchio looks better to me.

Will go with that one in July when it ships if nothing better has materialized.

I was kinda "meh" until I saw that blue, would make a nice gift for my better half. I don't do docks and I don't like cradles in my vehicles. I don't need the ability of seeing my screen all of the time, I don't want to see it all of the time either. But thats just me.

I might take a peak at their previous product and see if at a certain point in time the price came down. I can wait, I'm cheap.
