Good. Those witches are more trouble than they're worth. They turned me into a newt...
Nice that you can laugh about it
EDIT: Damn! I never get the joke...
He got better.
Different culture, different fears, different reaction, and different notion of right and wrong. I'm not saying that what they did was right, but that's because people in this forum come from a similar enough background that we'd all have a similar sense of morality. It's weird. I'm not defending their acts, but I'm kind of defending their understanding of the situation, as it's probably far different from our own.
Morons in Kenya
Burning people for witchcraft may be related to a different notion of right and wrong but it is utterly idiotic. That is the KEY and only valid way to view this behaviour. Moronic, ignorant and worthy of pity.
The earlier posts seem to have the right reaction - laugh at them.
There is no need to attempt to appreciate their understanding of the situation (other than through forensic psychiatry). This is not some multi-cultural excentricity - this is mass murder by cretins.
A secure mental hospital is where the murderers should be.
I hope they at least confirmed that they weighed the same as a duck...
Now now, no need to make jokes. I don't think you've quite grasped the weight of the situation...
Who are you who are so wise in the ways of science?
I'm glad someone got it. I was beginning to look very stupid there for a while.
Of course but they are one of many countries basically still in the middle ages compared with the modern industrialized world.
I'm not judging them. Simply making an observation.
Burn her anyway!
I completely agree. When Iran hanged two gay kids I didn't hear anyone pleading for understanding a different culture.
I was disappointed in the other posters until he/she got it.
When I skimmed through that I saw "When I hanged two gay kids", slightly different.
Lol @ spookthehampster.
I don't really get the "newt" joke though.
As far as culture is concerned though, isn't Kenya predominantly Christian?
Time to educate yourself my boy, on all things python.
Ooooooh, the one where the man with shaving cream on his face says "She turned me into a newt"!
Funny how some things can totally disappear from your mind until your memory is jogged.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Salem witch trails.
I hope Tim the enchanter was involved somehow....
My brother lives in Salem.
According to the CIA World Factbook, Kenya is 45% Protestant, 33% Catholic, 10% Muslim, 10% indigenous, and 2% other.
So 78% Angels, 22% Devils
well from what I heard, they were lighter than wood.
