yeah but you gotta be fair, Left Center and Right they all do it. 99% of political discourse is now a distraction meant to cause reactions.
On the topic of unrestricted freedom of speech, of course there must be limits. For example around on going court cases. Or around trade secrets. Or national security. Or privacy.
So there will always be restrictions of some kind. The question for civil society is what are the limits. It’s not a binary issue; even in the USA with the 1st amendment. It’s a spectrum.

It’s fun watching people screech over equitability return to the platform. And no I’m not talking about empowering nazis and racists, always the same tired argument, I’m talking about stone cold debate discussion and disagreement. The internet and America is long overdue to start discussion again even if we fundamentally disagree on every single thing. I think that’s the only way to have any pretense of a society, is to allow words (within bounds of law as Elon stressed)
Otherwise you don’t LIKE what someone has to say? Tough, that’s life and what being a grown adult means sometime. There’s still the mute and ban button you aren’t just going to ban someone from the platform entirely because you don’t like their face or “they’re mean” generically. Get a grip!
Also the “Elon bangs horses” tweets ‘testing censorship’ (from rabid pro censorship users, since their core arguments suck and they have to eradicate any opposition competition or dissent cause they can’t stand on their own) make me belt out lol. He doesn’t think like you, and frankly he doesn’t care about you and what you think and that’s a refreshing wonderful thing. He shouldn’t he’s not everyone’s mommy and that’s not a realistic thing to expect.
Time for the adults to grow up, the hatches have been batted down for too long to pamper you all into thinking garbage ideas are sound ones because any time anyone disagrees on some mainstream thing it’s outright banned or even shadow banned so you are manipulated into feeling like you’re part of a conversation but truly and practically speaking talking only to yourself

I got suspended from Twitter because I said that “president Biden is losing his mind. Someone get him an evaluation”. I was fact check that he wasn’t losing his mind. My freedom to say that was canceled. Freedom of speech is not the freedom of saying racist or comments deemed hateful. It’s the freedom of speaking your opinion with the respect of others at the same time. I was censored because the far left leaning Twitter didn’t like it. But they were ok when folks said Trump was losing his mind. They were not censored.
Now do you think I should have been suspended?
I immigrated to the US 20 years ago. I heard this “it’s the end of America” since day 1, on multiple occasions and after multiple elections. Looks like the US is still standing.
A few years back I bought a used book on Nixon. Inside, someone left a clipped newspaper article which stated that Kennedy being elected will quickly destroy the US. Looks like they were wrong.
The best he could do is take Twitter to another country, where freedom is speech is protected more than in the US. That was not possible when Twitter was still listed on an American stock exchange. I would love to see Twitter move to Sweden or Switzerland.

I think you’re suffering from paranoia. Maybe there are some people that believe that. But also you’re arguing for unbridled free speech as being a good thing so I guess that’s what you get. Equally, there are thousands of people racially abusing black and other minorities every day. That doesn’t necessarily mean that every white person is racist.
In the same way, just because someone might have called for the exterminating whiteness doesn’t make it part of an organised “woke ideology”. I’m almost certainly someone you’d think of as “woke” but I’ve never heard of that before and it sounds horrendous.
To me, I just want people to care for each other and allow others to live their lives the way they want to live them without fear, discrimination or intimidation from others. I don’t care what gender, sex, sexual orientation or race you are. Just try to have as happy a life as you can and I’ll try to do the same.
