Saw this coming for miles. He's all promises and bluster, but sloppy (or failure) execution.

He loves to brag, an egotist who think's he's Gods gift to mankind. In the end, he's done nothing for mankind.... well maybe give false hope (e.g. we're going to Mars soon? As if that solves any of our current problems on Earth).

I've said this at least three times here on MR.... Mark Cuban is far superior to Elon Musk, as far as billionaires go.

Elon loves to brag about his "genius plans", but rarely delivers. But Mark Cuban has already staked at something that has delivered and helped thousands of common citizens. His CostPus pharmaceutical has already saved people thousands of dollars, where he allows everyday people to buy necessary (meds like) insulin, for less than half the cost elsewhere.

For sure, but so can he. A better one even.

Elon can hire the best of the best of the best lawyers. I hear Rudy is looking for a job.

Tesla, and Elon, will be credited for kickstarting the EV revolution. Deservedly so. High five. But once the major automakers go mainstream (ex: the Honda Civic EV), which is months away, it’s game over. No way Tesla can hang with their mass-production experience and overall network and partners. I’ve said that from day one - which has been an unpopular pov. And I get why. But it’s never seemed more apparent. To me. That said, I could be completely wrong. Would not be the first time. 😂
You’re right. Tesla haven’t really solidified their head start but there’s a second EV revolution further down the line, and that’ll be the breakthrough into the huge EV-resistant market. You know the ones, who are just opposed to good things just because certain other people support them. Engaging with that market is going to need big brash political stunt of some kind…

Hate speech itself is opinion. Anyone can claim anything is hate speech. I could claim your comment is hate speech. You could do the same to me. It’s arbitrary.
No it’s not. We could make the claim but everybody would see that we wouldn’t have a point.
But when I say that your mother is a … and that I think the nazis should have put her in one of their camps it would be a totally different thing.
Even more if I didn’t just mention a single woman but let’s say an entire social group, like a minority.
History teaches us that hate speech leads to death and that violent people many times abused so called free speech to stir up others to do violent actions.

This will end with him paying probably the biggest settlement in history, and twitter remaining an independent business. They can't force him to buy, but they can sue for breach of contract and damages. Going to put a bet on it costing him a total of around $60billion.

I don't believe we do. However, spam accounts are just part of the game these days. Pretty much every online site has them and they are deceivingly difficult to eradicate. This argument is just an excuse to get out of the deal and nothing more.
That’s how it looks to me too, friend.

SEC Filing

We'll see where this goes - and I'm not sure Elon's done trying to buy Twitter - but expect this to get ugly.
An accusation is hardly the same thing as fact. Elon is known for playing fast and loose with facts as it suits him, so personally I’d take his accusations with a large grain of salt.

Well regardless of who owns Twitter, it’s kind of like Alien vs Predator whoever wins we still lose, although Musk has his hands full being a terrible CEO at just two companies not sure how he would handle three.

There is a big difference between opinion and flat out lies. It’s critical we expose the latter, no matter their origin. Doing so isn’t bias, it’s having integrity.

Liars that hide behind the shield of “opinion“ as some bizarro form of justification to continue lying, is the opposite of integrity. It’s complete cowardice. And transparent af.
I don’t disagree, but the method to expose is of great importance. Frankly, you make the argument that the lies should stand so that they CAN be exposed for what they are. Now, we just have arbiters behind the scenes with little accountability.

So the story basically goes like this:

Musk: "I want to buy Twitter."
Twitter: "No, we'll never sell!"
Musk: "For 1 trillion dollar."
Twitter: "Deal!!"
Musk: "Sorry, changed my mind."
Twitter: "😟"

Musk exposed Twitter for what it is, a mirage designed to lean way left. Was his intention to only expose and step away? Who knows but I’m sure he’ll be fine.
I also enjoy the hypocrisy of those that loved him before for Tesla and then their disgust that he wanted free speech for all on a potential purchase. He wasn’t even a conservative and saw the error in silencing one side. That alone got him hated by a large group.

The Twitter vs. Elon controversy is only about money, as is everything else Elon does. Everything.

The World's wealthiest businessmen don't care about right or left. They latch on to whatever serves them best in the moment.

Really sad that people still take his words at face value. Elon does not give a f***.

Makes me feel better that not even Musk can perfect timing on a transaction. Had this offer not gone ahead, what would twitter be trading at today? Sub $10 based on competitor P/E’s? Too bad he didn’t wait a couple of weeks 😜

Elon… what a loser. He’s done nothing except build an electric car company from the ground up, create SpaceX and create Neuralink. Anyone could have done that!
When did people resort to just reading headlines and watch ads(interviews, product presentations, TED talks, etc.)?

Nobody cares to fact-check anything anymore or just apply a little common sense.

Elon has it so easy. No wonder he's gotten as far as he has.
