k.st

(amongst others)

It is a wierd service - I wish I knew more about te owners of the site.... anyone with the know how feel free to help me out here, maybe a PM.

The .st domain is from Sao Tome, Africa. A little info on the place:

São Tomé is one of the least well-known countries in the world. Its located at the equator in Central Africa, in the Gulf of Guinea. The country is comprised of two islands - São Tomé in the south and Principe in the north.

Looks like it is a small country- two islands. I get rejected by some sites when using the address 'cause they don't recognize the domain - so I have a few fall back adresses.

Oddly enough its registered to someone in California. :D
So now we have the shortest ever email address (k.st) and the longest ever (abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzabcdefghijk.com)

Yeah please help me see if it's a free service and one more thing, how can i fill in the character thing? i mean the confirmation code in korean characters?

the site, daum.net

I'm a bit confused as to why you would want to use this service if you cannot read Korean...

Daum's email service is free (there are probably premier accounts available as well). You need to have Korean font on your computer to be able to type it in. On multi-lingual systems, you can press a certain key (such as alt) to switch back and forth from English to whatever language - but this needs to be installed onto the computer.

Gmail is my main account, followed by my Penn State email account. Next is Hotmail, and I also have an AIM mail account for spam.

First off you might just want to skip this email site if you have no chance of understanding any of it, I mean its probably going to be just as hard trying to navigate the email's web interface after you join.

But if you want to type in those characters, you'll have to change your keyboard input type. So from 'System Preferences' goto 'International', then choose the 'Input Menu' format, and then check off the Korean input type. Now change your current input type to Korean (via the input menu in the menu bar, enable it if its not enabled it should be a flag) and use the Keyboard viewer to choose the right letters.

As for if its free or not, while I don't see any reference to prices at all I cant be 100% certain as bablefish, nor google seems to be working on it.

Yeah thnx but the problem here is i don't know what is the word that i need to type which means its pretty wierd...

I want the hanmail from daum.net
I'm not going to use it as an email service in general i wanna use it for MSN etc...so i pretty much don't mind about anything else...
Btw, do u mind helping me to register?
The main problem i have here is not what but the last step which is to enter the confirmation korean words...
I'll email you the details...or if do u use IM? i can message u a screenshot of the word and u can help me type it...

Gmail most of the time, my sites @pixelfreak.at account and a spam account for registering online from my ISP.

I find Gmail's labels to be indispensible for work.
I have multiple work addresses at jhmi.edu and jhu.edu in addition to a mac.com email account, all of which I have forwarded to Gmail for sorting.

i want that daum.net account soo badly i'm leaving town tis weekend so anyone seriously knows korean and is willing to register on my behalf?

It seems to get even worse than the confirmation part (which really isnt that bad, just use the keboard viewer in conjunction with Hangul - 2-Set Korean, or one of the other korean sets). Was able to figure out how to combine the right symbols in a couple minutes of tinkering. But after you pass that page, it gives you another page where you have to type in numbers after SKT, KTF, or LGT, which it accepts random numbers so its most likely a telephone number maybe? Im not up on Korean area codes ;). Then another field comes up but it seems no matter what I type it gets rejected and gives a pop up error, so I think this might be a no go.

.Mac and Gmail.

I am getting a lot of spam on .Mac lately though. Not near what I was getting when I used Hotmail but in the last year the .Mac address has been getting three or four daily.

Ok I just sent you a PM about this.

Services: Gmail, .Mac, Yahoo
Application: Apple Mail (you technically can't call it just "Mail" anymore because in Windows Vista, the email client will be called "Windows Mail", and you don't want people think you're just another PC-using loser, right?)

--My ISP Used for personal email but not that often after I bought my Domain and set up email there
--My Domain (a couple different addresses here) One of these addresses is the one I use for my personal email correspondence
--Earthlink (dialup as backup for when the cable goes down -- used to need it for traveling, too, but now that's not as much an issue since most places do provide wired or wireless broadband access) I also use the Earthlink address for signing up at websites, ordering online, etc. That way all the spam goes into that account
--GMail (use primarily for subscriptions to Yahoogroups lists)
--.mac account (don't really use except for Apple and Mac related stuff, such as ordering from the Apple store)
--Some other free thing that I signed up with a long time ago right before GMail became available. Don't even remember what it is now. Probably my account there is long expired. I was an early GMail adopter; a friend sent me an invitation within a couple days of the service first beginning

I really like GMail for the way I use it; comes in really handy for all those Yahoogroups lists and the volume of mail that some of them generate!
