Did you go over any speedbumps on the way to work?
everything will be in it's original folder. it does not reformat the drive. don't remember where it put the old OS though.
I think it puts the OS in a separate folder. So if everything else gets put back into place, I will just delete the old OS. But first I will try booting up the machine when I get home and maybe it's just looking for something I have there.
a friend of mine had the same problem with Tiger. In my case an archive and install was the only solution I found (Disk Utility and Disk Warrior found and repaired some problems but didn't resolve the issue).
I noticed afterwards that the tartup disk was almost full and thought that this could be the reason of the problem.
How much free space is left on your startup disk?
whats on your network at home? is your network static or dhcp?
Came home and put the MacPro disc in. Used Disk Utility and Repaired Disk Permissions. Everything is working fine. Thanks everyone!![]()
So the moral of the story is don't move the almighty MacPro once it is situated.
I know right. That or, shut it down more often instead of leaving it on 24/7.![]()
Glad to find out that your Mac Pro is working again for you!
If I remembered correctly, you did post a thread about a problem with your Mac Pro here when the 2008 Mac Pro first released right??
Hope that all your problem will stop now..![]()
Oh yes, you remember correctly, that was fun to deal with at the beginning. Keep in mind though, that was the MacPro Early 2008 #1. Exchanged for a brand new one. So now I'm on MacPro Early 2008 #2. lol It's been working flawlessly so far. It was probably just a glitch in something I downloaded. I rarely shut down my computer. But everything is working great!
I remembered all of it. It was just that I am a PC guy and could not really offer any help to you back then beside reading all your threads and hoping that Apple is going to do something about your Mac Pro, which they eventually did..
I am happy that everything works for you now.![]()
