Emoji on iOS4?

use spell number and follow the instructions

Settings> General> International> Keyboards> Emoji (emoji is on its own)

emoji should now be in your keyboard Hope this helped

and I am running iOS 4

OK... I'm on a 3Gs phone running iOS 4 (version 4.0 8A293) in US.

I made sure the Settings was not running in background. I installed Spell Number and used it. Then followed the directions above to add the keyboard and nothing... does not work for me.

Am I missing something here???

Yeah. You got to make sure messages isn't running in the background.
