Mendeley

hey guys, I was just wondering if there were any programs like Endnotes for Leopard, I now Endnotes has a Mac version, but its a resource hog and old. Any suggestions?
Thanks

I would recommend trying Mendeley. It's free and available for Mac. There's web integration to allow you to sync your references across multiple computers. There's a bookmarklet that allows you to easily import papers from sites like Google Scholar, PubMed, ISI Web of Knowledge, etc.

EndNote X2

The latest EndNote, version X2, works with Leopard, and its Cite While You Write feature works with all of the recent versions of Word AND with the latest version of Pages. This was a big touted feature of iWork 09. No copy and paste needed.

I'm not clear what the poster said about EndNote being a resource hog. It doesn't tax the processor or gobble up memory on my MacBook.

I have used the TexShop and Bibdesk combination for my dissertation proposal. The solution is very nice if you have a Latex template for your document (as my university provided for my dissertation proposal). If you want to make documents from scratch, Latex has a learning curve, but is worth it if you have the time and patience, and if you love beautiful typography.

I've followed this thread and considered all the options, but am not too happy yet. Bookends is expensive (just like Endnote) and the user interface of BibDesk actually looked fantastic! So I've tried using it, but just can't figure out how to cite in Word... I assume it only works to cite in TeXShop (or others) but that program seems like a lot of work and I can't export to other Word users, correct?

Any comment would be greatly appreciated, esp other alternatives!!

TexShop will generate a pdf of your document that you can share with others who don't use TexShop.
