That happened early on with the iPad running iPhone apps and not having an ipad version yet. Now that there's iPad versions of many of the popular apps we got used to the nice crisp display
Sorry to harp on about this, but the resolution has been doubled from 320x480 to 640x960, whilst mantaining the physical screen size(3.5"), which in turn, enables an increased pixel density.increased pixel density, apple did this with the iPhone 4. They did not increase the resolution, but rather increased the number of pixels, thus creating a retina display which just means you don't see the dots.
Yes, but iPhone apps are pixel doubled on the iPad, which is a relatively easy accomplishment.
If the app has to be "zoomed" by a fractional amount such as 1.3, the process is a lot more laborious for the hardware and would have a knock-on effect on performance.
That's exactly what I've thought all along (and so it seems does the majority of the iPad forum.) But it makes you wonder why this rumour keeps cropping up from trusted sources.
If you had read the article, it's pretty obvious: the dual-core A5. It cranks out 1080p video "like running water," so that means 1920x1080 resolution is doable (but probably won't be the iPad 2 resolution given the 4:3 form factor).Find me a mobile graphics processor that can drive anywhere near that resolution.

Sorry I don't know much about screen res and everything. But when the iPhones res got improved the apps didn't look rubbish on it....

There is a world of difference between pushing out rendered video and processing 500 million polygons to play a game.
For those of you that think that Apple will allow the use of SD cards as storage, you are fooling yourselves. The SD card will only be used for storing photos, nothing else.
Of course I don't know that for sure but judging by the way Apple thinks, this is the most possible scenario.
Of course there is. And these are the limitations that developers will have to work with. There is a world of difference between pushing out rendered video and processing 500 million polygons to play a game.
