I had to share the story in my crafting group. We are very familiar with glitter bombs - but not in the way they're used here. If you met any of us, you'd think we'd stolen one of those booby-trapped packages.
He quite specifically said the police don't care and won't bother to investigate. Is stealing packages really that common?
I like the idea but it seems like a lot of work for not much results. If you want justice, simply hide a gps tracker in the real package and call the police. If you want revenge, spray paint seems like a better punishment. I doubt those thieves will stop stealing after cleaning up that glitter.
Good idea but you would need to lure them into your house first in the right state. But does seem excessive for just theft. Why waste the claymore on one person. A smaller customized IED should do the trick. You are in the US, so why don't you put a Claymore in it and blow the people up? I guess some crazy law permits that![]()
Don’t bother him with the facts! He quite specifically said the police don't care and won't bother to investigate.
I was curious after I saw this and went and looked up the brand of glitter he used. "Finest" in this context refers to size. I suspect you're probably right that the folks that opened this thing in their car or home will probably be finding glitter all over their stuff for years to come.I don’t know, that amount of glitter is going to be impossible to clean fully. You’ll be finding it for years! I thought it was almost too cruel, but then they’re probably serial offenders.
Sure, if you only bring video of them they have proof but they still have to find them which can take time.He quite specifically said the police don't care and won't bother to investigate.
Too cruel? So now we are considered even to thieves? When did this switch happened because last time I checked thieves were being punished.I don’t know, that amount of glitter is going to be impossible to clean fully. You’ll be finding it for years! I also wish he hadn’t blurred the faces.Too cruel? So now we are considered even to thieves? When did this switch happened because last time I checked thieves were being punished.
Its a bit crazy that police is often refusing to help even when you provide clear evidence, tracking etc.
Let alone the fact that why is it that the video has blurred faces? Those people intentionally stole something that wasn't theirs. They were not kids to messing about but grown up adults fully knowing what they were doing. Police record, fine and some community work would be a good start. (no jail though, that would be excessive - unless repeated many times)
I sincerely hope Santa brings me a new MacBook Pro.Sure, if you only bring video of them they have proof but they still have to find them which can take time.
If you have video + gps coordinates you've basically done all the work, I sincerely hope police would take the time to enforce the law.

Booby trap laws. lol... doubt it.As awesome as that sounds, I’m betting that even a glitter bomb runs afoul of booby trap laws.

"He should sell this."
The price would be way more than anyone would want to pay.
Watch the video. He went to the police they told him to F off.Is stealing packages really that common?

I don't doubt that you're right, but if what you are saying is true it is literally the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. If someone takes my property from my property and injures themselves.... you're saying I would be accountable? That just seems ridiculous. He’s risking a lawsuit. There’s laws against booby traps that injure. If the glitter injures the theif’s eyes, or is inhaled, that theif can sue. In this case, it’s even worse since he is intentionally baiting.
That's awesome. The craziest thing in my opinion is how many times the package was taken. I've been lucky and never had a package stolen (knocks on all the wood). Looks like this guys area gets hit hard with package thieves.
They can, but traditionally (at least where I live) they will leave the package at the front door unless the shipping instructions specify otherwise. I think the receiver can request that the package is held at a hub for pickup. With how many things we have delivered these days it would be a hassle to have everything held for pickup, especially Amazon packages. What is this madness? Do delivery companies not deliver in person? Deliver to workplaces? A relative, neighbor?
The risk retaliation is not worth sending the message. I don't want them coming back to my house and throw a rock on the window or worse. This is just amazing. Wish he'd sell them. If every thug who stole packages knew this could happen to them, maybe they'd think twice about being scum and stealing other people's property.
