I've never been big on engraving any of my iDevices as I like them neutral, however, tonight was an exception of that. I decided to dedicate the engraving to Steve Jobs.

Serious question and this might be picky, but I have:

Steve Jobs
1955 - 2011

Is it correct to have the space in there or should it be like:

Steve Jobs
1955-2011

Technically you would use an en-dash (not a hyphen) with no space.

But I would just go with whichever you think looks better.

One day when you sell it maybe you can make some sort of Limited Edition type sales pitch on CList.

Maybe sell it for extra lol.

Agreed.

I think I like the first one (with space) better. Maybe you would like to include your [favorite] quote from SJ instead. Up to you, just a suggestion.

It won't hurt resale, but probably won't help. Personally, I think it's a nice gesture. :)

Don't bother. You didn't know him. Let the memorials stay with his loved ones.

I would love to put a quote of "And one more thing." on the back

How interesting. I have also never gotten any apple product engraved, but today when I ordered, I felt compelled to.

Same here. Since I was pre-ordering for the first time online and there was no difference in price or shipping time I went for it.
