The only thing that's missing is in app dropbox sync to make it perfect.

I am so glad you like it! My current plan is to work on iCloud support first, which will make eNote a document based app (a .enote document is a notebook). Then I can start to work on eNote Reader for iPhone, Mac and Windows so that you can read your handwritten notes everywhere using iCloud! It will be easier to do than Dropbox sync because Apple has provided the foundation of syncing documents in the cloud. It will also make it easier for you to backup and copy and paste notebooks because they are all inside the app's document folder.

only improvement I would make...probably should be an easy one..,is: currently when you tap two fingers the close up box appears with the center around your second finger. Ideal would be if it appeared with the center arund the first finger. That way you don't have to keep moving the box manually every time you two-finger-tap in order to align it with where you want to write.

This is a very good suggestion I haven't thought of, I will do it.

Sounds great---its so refreshing to have a developer here who designs features based on our suggestions..thanks

Love the update. All it really needs to be perfect, for me anyway, are:
  • Folders management, similar to Pages 1.3
  • After opening the note, tapping the note area should enable edit (similar to Pages) instead of requiring a click to the Edit button (which should be removed)
  • Search (for title and tags)
  • iCloud integration (which you've already talked about)
  • PDF and image annotation
  • A pet peeve of mine, but a new product name and icon... then again, eNote Taker is a better name than UPAD.

Folders management, similar to Pages 1.3
I have tried it and I think its great, and some other users also requested it before. It is on my future release plan.

I will have to think more about it.

Search (for title and tags)
I have also planned to support bookmarks and tags.

PDF and image annotation
You can do PDF annotation already. Image annotation is planned too.

Thank you for support! :)

Thanks steven for listening to us :)

I guess since everyone else is pitching suggestions I will give it a shot... I also love the suggestions above.

How about automatic date stamp? Could be automatically displayed in the top right of the page (toggle on/off), then ability to sort all notes by date, and (after inclusion of search/tagging) searching by date, month, or range of dates. something like that.

Sort notebooks by date will be supported after eNote becomes a document based app. My current plan is to display the last modification date under the notebook name. I will have to think about the other one. Thanks!

Great job on the close up box. Works flawlessly for me at the moment. Can't wait to see your icloud support.

Is there a way to import a PDF from drop box to an existing notebook? Every time I try, it puts it in a new notebook and I can't figure how how to merge the two.

Great work!! This is quickly turning into a great app.

It can't be done in the current version. I have planned to support copy and paste individual pages. You can view our release plan here: http://enotetaker.com/release-plan Thank you for your support!

Annotation of presentations would be great for business use

What I am really missing in every note taking app is possibility to make notes/draws to presentations. That would be a dealbreaker for many business users.

Hi I've finally gotten round to buying the app and love it but I have a suggestion, I'm left handed and I'm finding when I rest my hand down to write with a stylus I'm tapping the + at the bottom on the left, how about a function to toggle the page selection pane on the right and shift the writing area up to the left hand edge.

Other than that, great and I'm looking forward to the new developments especially changing to a doc app and bringing in iCloud :)

Daz :)

would like to see an option to set page orientation to landscape. sure i can rotate the ipad, but the page is still in portrait mode. most of my drawings on paper tend to be in landscape view.

thanks

Ahh haa Rutiger, I was using it in landscape and that was giving me the tappable +, just turned the ipad to portrait and voila, perfect. OMG what an idiot lol. I'm actually really smart but I do tend to have my "doh" moments LOL

Landscape pages would be nice.

The ability to select notes and re-arrange them to different parts of the page would also be nice. It sucks to draw a good diagram and then realize you don't have room for the annotations next to it.

I'm impressed with this app. Nice job! I look forward to your future updates! I was using Notes Plus before. This app doesn't have as many features yet, but if feels smoother and more intuitive.

You can save your presentations in PDF format and import them into eNote Taker. I know it may be a bit troublesome...

Landscape papers are planned.

Better left hand support is also planned! A user suggested to move the toolbar to the bottom and the palm rest to the top for left hand users, and I think its great. What do you think?

Select and move ability is also planned! I have put it all together here: http://enotetaker.com/release-plan :)

Thank you for giving me so much encouragement to improve eNote Taker here!

Hi Steven
The palmrest at the top would be good for some left handed writers who tend to write with their wrists bent at some strange angles but personally I could never do that, an option, for me, would be to move the pages pane over to the right and have the writing area sitting on the left but that's only in landscape (which is how I have the screen locked to pretty much 95% of the time). I tried it in portrait and it fills the page much better and obviously works better but I prefer using the iPad in landscape...... but that's just me.

Huge thanks

Daz

Wow, your zoom to write works very well. I like how it gives a bigger preview of the left side. I have numerous notetaking apps and have been switching back and forth between a few as they leap frogged over each other. But a few things about yours has put you in the lead (for me anyway, and I sold 2 copies for you today showing off LOL)

1) Your zoom to write is awesome. Works well, is intuitive, and the preview on the left is perfect size. I do wish you had the return button not only on the upper right of the zoom box but upper left as well. Sometimes you only write an inch or so in from the left at the end of a paragraph and therefore have to move all the way to the right to tap it, or drag the rectangle. Yeah, I know. I am lazy. LOL

2) Please do not EVER change you simple layout of the pen/marker up top.Always visible and so simple to use, I find myself using a lot more color now. Awesome!

3) Your file system and being able to re-order pages and notebooks is quite nice.

Many more, but those stick out at the moment. A few requests that I already know most are in your plans:

-Don't clutter up the interface. :)
-iCloud is your #1 priority I see, as it should be. I can't wait. Can you also make notes shareable between users?
- I vote for moving evernote up on your list
- And move more papers / templates up on your priority list too.
- And tags. :)

I've thinking about buying this app, but as the proud owner of most other apps, it is difficult to justify buying one more. Can anyone that owns other apps can tell me how this app is better than Notes Plus (PDF annotation, I know), uPad and Note Taker HD?

Just my opinion for me of course, but...

I have all three of those. uPad's user interface for bringing up pens, organizing notes, etc isn't too bad but with Note Taker HD, though I picked it over the others too, it's interface leaves something to be desired. Lots of features not in other apps, but the clumsy nature of it slows me down. Notes Plus ink and response time just wasn't there for me either.

I use eNote Taker 90% of the time because of the speed of everything. I have a Quick Notes notebook and as add pages it is easy to move them around. It is fast to change pen and hi-light size/color because it is just a tap away. Same with turning pages, re-ordering pages, etc. I guess what I am saying is the interface is clean and simple...just theyw ay iPad apps should be.

The other reason is the zoom writing shows more of a preview in the ghost on the left, making it much easier to keep writing the same word.

it isn't without missing features that are suppose to be coming soon. such as the ability to add a PDF to an existing notebook. Or I assume folders of some sort for organizing.

And I don't know if it is coming or now. having an "A" tool to type text and the ability to lasso around text/ink to move it once it is down on paper would be highly desirable.

The only time I use Note Taker HD now is when I need its shapes, which isn't often. uPad and Notes Plus, for me, just don't cut it for stability, speed, ease of use. Note Takeer HD's ease of use isn't the greatest either, but the ink was fast and the features nice.
