Read my freaking post!!!

I got this error code 3 times while using DVD-R's as backup devices. I torrented the entire season collection of "Little House on the Prairie" (Don't ask) and I dragged and dropped the AVI files onto the burn folder. I clicked "BURN" and it burns it, and then verifies it. After it verifies it, the disk pops out and I get the error code pop up. At that point I'm like "WTF!!!!"

So I pop the disk BACK into the optical drive, and the disk shows up on my desktop as exactly what I named the disk. I open it, all files that I wanted burned were burned, and I click on one of the AVI files, and the movie starts playing as if there was no error code to begin with.

I did this EVERY time the error code showed up. It don't mean jack $(it!!

A lot of times I think Apple is sooooo stupid!!

THE ERROR CODE MEANS NOTHING!! APPLE PROGRAMMERS ARE IDIOTS! POP THE DISC BACK INTO YOUR COMPUTER AND YOU WILL SEE THAT THE DISC IS COMPLETELY USABLE. YOU DID NOT WASTE ANY MONEY OR DISCS. THE DISCS ARE COMPLETELY FINE AFTER THE ERROR CODE. IF ANYONE ELSE POSTS A RESPONSE WITHOUT READING THIS FIRST THEN I'M GOING TO CALL YOU OUT AND CALL YOU AN IDIOT FOR NOT READING MY POST!!

Also, I NEVER allow it to "verify" the burn. I click on the X to stop verification, it tells me that problems might occur but I don't care, I click OK, the cd pops out. I stick it back in, open some files to see if it works, then eject it and start a new burn for the other files. I mean, even if you were to go through the entire verification, it will still be able to be used either way whether it was verified or not. Apple programmers are idiots.

DVD Burn Error 0x80020063

Using Samsung SE-S084D external DVD drive on new Mac Air. No luck burning to Memorex DVD-R disks -- 0x80020063 error and a pile of plastic on the floor. Bought SONY DVD+R -- work perfectly burning with Samsung/Mac Air using Finder and iDVD. Also Mac Pro internal superdrive hit-and-miss with Memorex DVD-R (though readable even with error), but works perfectly the Sony DVD+R.

I have the same problem you describe. But the issue I'm having is that my burnt DVDs don't play in my DVD player, only my computer. I've burnt DVDs before, and they all work on my DVD player. I'm not sure what's wrong this time around. The blank discs are the same brand/size/etc.

I used toast to burn DVD's and it has worked every time. Perhaps your settings are incorrect either in the application's preferences or during the burn process.

Ok the answer seems to be a simple one: the error is not a fault wit the disk or the burn, in fact of you enter the disk and check you will it has burnt successfully. The error message is the fault: not real and a bug wit the apple burn software. Ignore it and click ok!

so no more stressing people as this is a phantom message with no truth bhind it.

You are right! This has been bugging me for 3 months.. Off and on. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Normally tossing about 5 dvd's for every ONE that burns! Not time efficient. Just pulled one out of the trashcan- and wha-la! everything was burned!!!!!
Note: I was busy elsewhere and this disc had already ejected by itself. In the past, I have quit the process when it gave me the error code, and tried to eject and sometimes the disc would not come out. And_ this is using cheap staples offbrand dvd'r's
