I couldn’t care less what US cable companies do or don’t. Besides the point as the topic is the App Store in the EU and Apple Pay.
And one monopoly in one industry hardly justifies another in a different one for that matter.
And how is a company that only has 25% of the mobile market (or is it only 13%) a monopoly? Article 102 TFEU (EU law) talks about dominating a market as being a monopoly and Apple sure as blazes isn't doing that. As Pizzakoerier pointed out Apple has a right to control its own internal ecosystem. Think about it. By the EU's loopy case Apple must allow the MacOS to run on non apple hardware because they dominate the MacOS market.
monopoly
1.the exclusive possession or control of the supply of or trade in a commodity or service - Apple has neither of these in the mobile space and projections are that android will increase in marketshare to where Apple will only have 12.6% by 2023.
Mind explaining to us how a company that at best only has a 25% of a market has a monopoly? Or is this one of the Humpty Dumpty ala Alice where the EU has taken a totally off the wall gonzo definition of monopoly despite what their own statue says situations?
