I just used Vivaldi Browser translation button. I am pretty sure it's Google Translate.

If that's true, which is the next plausible flight on which the macs could board to Cologne?

I appreciate your research on flights, thanks for sharing.
Might go back to Seoul (with our macs) and from there to cologn… (that would be back to something like a regular route I think… (but I am no expert)
if they fill up the whole aircraft just with our macs (might already be quite a pile with 2-3 loads of them…) they might take a different more direct flight… I guess only UPS and maybe apple knows…

That sounds correct, given that the official route is Seoul/Cologne. It might go to Anchorage US from Seoul too though, looking at the routes. :( Only hope is that they will sort this once the macs are in Seoul. Either pulling a magic flight out of their a** or putting the macs on another plane...

Tried Google translate. That translation is a joke compared to your screenshot. Usually I use DeepL.com but that doesn't support Korean.

There was an 5X11A flight toda that probably was a replacement for that airplane but it departed from Seoul.

Not sure what they'll do but I guess they're prepared now. The longer they wait, the more severe the backlog will be and the less likely they can make that up.

If anyone cares about keeping a tab on UPS flights here's a filtered view of UPS flights around the world: https://www.flightradar24.com/UPS10/29a8742d

In the meantime, I've found a flight that is just about to land in Cologne from Seoul... Long shot, but could it be? https://www.flightradar24.com/UPS11A/29a6e8fd

There’s a UPS flight arriving to Cologne from Seoul in a bit less than 2 hours, couldnt our mbs be on that flight?

It's possible only if they were super speedy into sending another flights to Shanghai when the first one failed. It can be double checked by tracking when the first flight had the failure and when this flight you mentioned departed from seoul/shanghai...

It's unlikely we missed it as we have been checking all day lol, but it could be. I want to believe...

Here's the flight that recently landed in Seoul: https://www.flightradar24.com/UPS10/29a8742d

I thought we would have seen export scans in our tracking if that were the case though?
Could also be true if they decided to skip a scan to catch up on lost time. Highly unlikely though

I've just checked, and the flight that's just about to land in Cologne UPS11A, departed at 1716 Korean time. The Korean article was published at 17:00. So there's no way the macs are on that one. As per UPS tracking they were still in Shanghai at 1600 Korean time.

If the tracking is just wrong and they were in Seoul at around 1700, it's highly unlikely they were boarded on the 1716 to Cologne. Accounting for how much time it took to the reporter to publish the article, UPS must have had a 1/2h window tops to board the pallets from the tarmac in the new flight for Cologne. Which is super tight.

I've just quickly had a look at the times and might be completely wrong in terms of timezones. Feel free to go back and double check. Here's the originally cancelled 5X11 flight for reference: https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/5x11

You can try tracking your package with external provider e.g. https://parcelsapp.com/en/tracking/
Sometimes they show info faster or more detailed (probably because they use API).

This is for example info for my package..

"On the way" is kind of conflicting with the "Arrived at facility" so it's kind of confusing for me, but maybe you will have better info ;)

https://www.radarbox.com/data/registration/n607up is now showing N607UP as operating UPS10 (5X10) from Seoul to Shanghai. That flight number suggests the aircraft will then operate UPS11 (5X11) Shanghai > Seoul > Cologne.

This makes more sense to me as the next aircraft going out from Seoul to Cologne, because it's a 747 which seems to be what UPS use on that route, and N607UP specifically has been flying back and forth on this route for the last few days.

That compares with UPS80, the flight we were tracking earlier, which seems to be part of a route to Anchorage and Louisville (UPS81), and where the 767 aircraft (N301UP) hasn't apparently been to Europe recently.

If N607UP does operate UPS10/11, there ought to be time for Friday deliveries: it will arrive in Cologne in the mid-late evening, but the Cologne hub is designed to sort packages overnight for early morning flights to other places in Europe.

5X10 from Seoul to Shanghai is on its way probably loading our MacBook Pros into its cargo

I'm hopeful. We have the UPS80 plane that was re-routed and is now in PVG (though could be for other reasons than our MBPs), and the UPS10 arriving. I hope we'll soon see new scans (preferably departure from PVG :))

Awesome research, thank you. What's your estimate for final arrival time in Cologne? Please include timezone

UPDATE: according to the UPS video posted by @larryjerry package sorting and scanning in Cologne starts at 11pm CEST and has to be finished by 2.30am CEST. So we can expect a tracking notification around that time either today or tomorrow.

I've got exactly the same points as you, also the one extra in the Parcel app. Only difference is that mine were scanned today, 27th. I think the second 'Arrived at Facility' just means it's been transferred to another UPS facility within Shanghai.

I just wanted to note that the Shanghai → Seoul transit part does not have to show up in tracking, they probably put entire pallets (or these special cargo containers) together with MBPs bound for Europe. It might even be a full cargo plane of just Köln-bound MBPs. If that's the case, they might still just show up tomorrow.

They do but afaik the pallet containing your package is tracked. So there will be an update to the tracking but it probably is a batch update for every single tracking number with a single scan.

In my experience tracking it's 100% unreliable. Especially from Asia. Many times I had lost hope for packages overseas, and then BANG they show up at my door skipping all tracking.

I am sure that UPS keeps track of everything, but the consumer side of tracking is just a flimsy front. It might be fun to track flights and tracking numbers, but I wouldn't hold my breathe on the accuracy of the data.

I'm in the same situation. Let's be realistic - our MacBook Pros probably haven't moved since the last update and are still somewhere in Shanghai. UPS doesn't deliver on weekends and Monday there's a holiday in Germany, so I'm not expecting to see mine before the middle of next week.

UPS does deliver on Saturdays - at least in Germany (Edit: Apparently they charge for this) :/
