I know Apple has support open in Saturday’s but when I called their regular phone number here in Sweden they didn’t pick up but instead the machine voice said the opening hours were yada yada in weekdays. Nice you could confirm it and I don’t believe you have to worry at all anymore. Let’s just hope our MPBs get the hell out of China fast! Haha.

i just managed to get a DHL tracking using the reference number in the email so it's fine

Nice you could find it, after your post, I tried to find the tracking number Apple gave me via phone on the original source of the email, but it wasn't showing up, how did you manage to do it? Just developer curiosity.

Oh, that's a PITA, in Spain even the physical Apple Stores are open usually till 8-9pm on Saturday, nuts but true. Yeah, let's hope they move fast!

Lol, I thought that reference was internal to Apple so I didn't even bother, nice finding yourself honestly. Yeah, I guess yours will arrive one-two day before, enjoy it and post pictures as soon as it arrives!

Well, now have an update from UPS and it's not entirely good news: 28.11 On the Way Due to operating conditions, your package may be delayed. Shanghai, China.

The delivery slot forecast for 29.11 has vanished from the UPS app and website with a message to refresh status later but it's still on the Apple order status page.

At least the good news is that it's on the way (previously had shown only customs clearance)!

Looks like those of you with DHL are doing better.

Mine has only “left the facility” and then again a few minutes later “arrived to the facility”, hmm car trouble? Hehe.
I don’t like the fact that I’ve not received any more updates about customs but I hope it will still be fast and make it on time.
I’m guessing there not really any movement on weekends unless the package is loaded to an airplane that is about to take off so I’ve not really bothered to update the status more than a couple hundred times.

ETA was tomorrow but now this is deleted with an update stating that my package could be delayed due to working conditions and stating that it is still in Shanghai.

Honestly, don't know what to tell you, I hope so, but we're "blind" till the package arrives to The Netherlands, we can't see any movement on CN/KO customs, so as they say "out of sight, out of mind"

If tracking keeps unchanged by Tuesday, I'll try to gather some more news from Apple/DHL, I saw sometimes customs movement on the weekend can be slower till normal work shifts are resumed from Monday to Friday. My guess is if everything goes ok, all of us should get our new MBPs next week, even if it happens towards the end of it.

Sometime between last night and this morning, the status changed to “Preparing for shipping”. Fingers crossed it progresses quickly

Still preparing to ship according to Apple’s website, however yesterday I got a shipment email (delivery date 06/12) and had my Apple care coverage registered.

Chatting with Apple today, I got the tracking number. It’s being sent via DHL, has a ping in Eindhoven as the rest of you, but is showing delivery by end of day tomorrow in Cologne, Germany.

Nice that you see the delivery by end of the day tomorrow! Maybe this really means our flight made customs clearance and it's on its way? That would be great. Mine has no extra ticks, possibly cause package has still to travel to Barcelona hub at Spain and it would ship some day later, Cologne is really close to Eindhoven, that would make sense for your fast delivery if it lands tonight. Cheers!

UPS 5X11 from Shanghai to Cologne, via Seul, usually is scheduled around 15:30 CET every day but Monday.

Let’s see if the parcel leaves Shanghai with it!


EDIT: The flight has been cancelled, as reported on Seul departures.

Regular schedule is from Tuesday to Sunday, they skip Monday usually, next two more days in Shanghai ?

Did you receive the SMS on your cellphone that the package is being delivered today? Or is it just listing it at the page? For me this is all that it shows:



On the Apple mail/page projected date is 9 Dec (similar to your 6 Dec estimate, here in Spain from 6 to 8 we have official days-off so seems "computer correct") but when talking to Apple on Saturday they told me mostly my package will be delivered sooner than that given the fact it was dispatched on 27th Nov.

Waiting for an SMS that confirms the date, as happened to some other guys in the thread the day before receiving it, cause even when they did receive it, tracking page was still not showing updates.

Given this "little chaos" guess who's gonna be with one-ear always connected to house intercom ... first world problems

Starting to think that all of our computers (sent via DHL or UPS) must have taken the cancelled flight salvatore was talking about and they're all gonna be delayed, hope not, but that's my guess, I'm keeping my hopes with janez's one, let's see if at least he gets the laptop and/or the notification and can clear things up for DHL ones.

IMHO it's not good to have two "official dates" (courier and Apple) which also appears to be a window/estimate from the moment you receive the "Shipped" till the limit date, never had this kind of mess with a shipping from CN, even past year during pandemic lockdowns, iPhone SE was (from a personal experience) miles better from processing to shipped, I can understand the chip shortage, but theoretically our computers have already been shipped ?

I don’t think so. From what I understand the delivery from China to DHL in NL is done by Syncreon. That corresponds to DHL tracking showing "ADI C/O SYNCREON" as the sender. I don't think Syncreon is using UPS flights.
