it is not like we are going to start a war with another country just because they only gave us 2 points in the Eurovision.

You must be kidding. Germans gave Greece 12 points and yet they are still going to invade Greece this summer, like every summer.

I don't get the whole political voting thing, it is not like we are going to start a war with another country just because they only gave us 2 points in the Eurovision.
It's more that Bosnia is full of Serbs, Ukraine is full of Russians, etc. People vote for their own.

LOL. Greece and Turkey are fighting it out for top spot :D

Scary Spice is beating us now..

The European transgender community did absolutely nothing to support it's sole representative from Poland... Gone are the glory days of Dana International...

My favourite was Ukraine. I'll be happy as long as the UK beats Spain is not last.

Edit: I have to be a bit more realistic.

*sigh*

C'mon, you've beaten us to death.

Correction: Ireland has voted Poland. Poles have already invaded Ireland, so this political voting thing is totally right.

There are now so many Russians all over Europe it's possible they could win this thing indefinitely.

*cue usual voting reform calls*

Ooh, Montenegro. 12 points to Serbia then :D

I actually think we lose out by not being in the semis. Everyone else's song gets extra exposure, which is worth a few points here and then. Of course we still won't win, but at least we won't be always propping up the table.

Nobody west of Poland will ever win it again. The balance of power has shifted in Europe, time to learn Russian folks.
It's not that. It's partly that the Eastern European economies are in such a state their citizens have scattered to other countries across the continent, so can vote for their own country in the contest. And it's partly because every time you get up in the morning another ex-Yugoslav country has split in two, meaning another huge bundle of votes for them the following year.

Either back to panel voting or split into two contests sadly. Otherwise, like Terry says, more western European countries will pull an Italy and just stop bothering.
