I finally bought some HomeKit devices for external and internal lights last month only to be super disappointed in HomeKit and it's inability to set a specific end time. Start at 5:30pm, but stop in 1/2/3/4 hours??? Nah... I want more than 4 hours. I want to be able to say stop at 11:15pm without having to multiply or fart around with automations.

Until this framework can act like 202x I will refrain from purchasing anymore HomeKit enabled devices. As for the manufacturer's app, don't get me started with their inconstant behaviour :p

Has anyone gone through the process of moving houses and figuring out what to do about all the smart devices they’ve installed? I have smart recessed lighting in a few rooms and I want to get some thread/matter dimmable switches whenever those come out, but if I were to move today, I can’t imagine leaving all that behind after what I spent on it. On the other hand, the thought of removing my stuff, and installing standard bulbs and switches for whoever is buying my house sounds like a pain.
I don't have recess lighting but I went through this last year when we moved. I removed light switches, nest thermostat and put back the original ones in (I kept them since it was a rental). Had to remove about 20 light bulbs/strips as well. it took a bit of a time to re-create rooms and new automations but I didn't think it was a huge hassle. keeping my wifi router login same helped a little bit since everything was connected to internet as soon they were plugged in. it actually forced me to do a little clean up with my devices and only keep the ones that are used on alexa and homekit. I eliminated harmony and smart things for example, and moved all automations to alexa. I was able to keep consistent names through different apps as well so you can maybe think it as an opportunity to get your devices organized :)

Same here. 100% reliable, great range, instant response.
4 years, same experience. Caseta is top tier for average consumers before stepping into high end smart home gear.

Their newly released Caseta Diva dimmers addressed most of the small complaints (looks, easier manual dimming, better 3 way switch integration)

But dimmer is not included - right? On Lutron Caseta think it is built in or I think Kasa has one that is.

You can include the value in your selling price. Also, if the items are present when showing the house, you probably can’t take them. They are considered “fixtures” and they come with the house.

Yep - nearly 70 Caseta switches running flawlessly in my home for over 5yrs.

I’m so used to it that regular toggles throw me off - I try to push them lol.

Highly, highly recommend.

You can get some decent bulk prices on eBay if you are considering the plunge.
Yeah I have too many of them, too. They’re just SO good that it became an absolute obsession to replace everything in my house with Lutron stuff. Even got their HomeKit-enabled Serena Shades to go with! Had them 6.5 year now.

Same!! I have two bridges now because of the number of devices. It just works that well. Anyone considering - Lutron Caseta is the solution. It only hurts once to pay for it….the next 1000000x you use it you will be happy.
