Apple must be doing something right to get mostly praise from LMG. I lost track of how many times they made videos complaining about Apple.

I'm sure the Neo is a great option for a lot of people, but I am like the Tim Toolman of computers. I want MOAR POWER!

The guy starts off the video pimping and promoting his own product while wearing a baseball cap backwards (and the stupid clickbait thumbnail picture). Add to that his carnival over the top acting, (as if the audience was no older than 5 years old) his video is very annoying to watch, especially if you are really interested in the Neo itself and want to know how it runs a typical real world user way, void of the YT video editing because I am a pro user drivel. In my opinion, the video was really made for click revenue and nothing more. Grade = F

They made a video about the thumbnails. They don't like them either but get more clicks with stupid faces. They are a business.
You can thank/blame Mr Beast for making stupid faces more or less a requirement to get clicks. I care more about the topic of the video and the quality of the presentation than a thumbnail. These days, I get a little paranoid if a thumbnail for a video from a uknown channel looks too good because I wonder if the whole damn video is A.I. generated.

The exception being the few channels I already subscribe to. For example, a food reviewer I watch recently resorted using A.I. generated thumbnails that look professionaly produced. He explained that he gets better results that way. I'm not going to hate and unsubscribe because he's trying to get his hustle on and make more YouTube money.

I agree. I can't stand that guy. I know he's supposed to be some kind of genius or something, but his personality drives me nuts.

that's been the general consensus, though given his anti-apple bias, I really don't go to LTT for apple product advise.

I've long stopped subscribing, and the recent loss of talent and people have made the channel largely one dimensional

According to what source? That is clearly made up BS. I think you are confusing this Linus with Linus Torvald. This Linus makes tech videos. That's it. He has never made any claims of being very intelligent.
I didn't mean he's like some kind of Einstein or Stephen Hawking. He's just very intelligent to me because he knows his way around tech and runs a gigantic company (?). I admire him for that much, but the rest is nauseating.

sooner or later, most PC techs grow up, get a disposable income, and realise they can just fight with windows, fight less with linux or fight even less with macOS and the hardware is nice.

Did that 20+ years ago and have no regrets. All other than an i5 13.3" MBP and M1 Max Studio were Apple refurb purchases or sniped off of eBay.

I do use a Chromebook as well for basic browsing and other less taxing tasks along with Linux servers (primarily Raspberry Pi's).

I can't even stand the thumbnails from this guy, let alone the hyper cringe videos.

How people enjoy his content is totally beyond me.

I'm clearly in the minority based upon how much cash he rakes in.
🤷‍♂️
One of the few things we can agree on is I find his videos cringe as well.

It depends, do these PC techs (I was always more of a dev but let's go with it) enjoy gaming? Then they are definitely sticking with Windows or at least Linux. Although most of my coworkers that game eventually end up back on windows.

It isn't like Mac is pain free. Try multiple monitors over time (and having to switch the dock and forgetting settings), mouse issues, etc., etc., But most especially if you game, you just have to run both Mac and Windows/Linux or just Windows/Linux.

I figured someone would reply with something like this. It’s not the same thing.

Company jet = Needs to be used for business purposes.

His jet = He can use it for whatever he wants.

This is a quick explanation.
Perhaps you can go with the long explanation because I am not seeing a difference between the two.
