This is a fact. Four years ago, the most advanced smartphone ever, Sony-Ericsson P800, failed to be a mass product because it was too large. Same thing will happen to Apple iPhone :(

Here in Europe (UK, Germany, France, Italy, ...) people hate large phones. What about in the USA?

I think that's a slight overgeneralisation. Here in the UK, the iPhone (and large Android phones) sell extremely well and I've never heard anyone complain about the size. I'm speaking from a youth perspective, though, and I get that older generations might prefer larger phones.

Students such as myself, however, think that the iPhone is the perfect size for a phone. Many are fans of BlackBerry phones, which are of a similar size or somewhat more squat (shorter and wider).

Hey man, you do realize the post you are responding to was written way back in 2007 right?

lol great find actually - I don't know why but I always LOVED the iPhone - even from day 1. I was coming from a T-Mobile Dash at the time (windows mobile 6? LOL) and some previous Nokia devices - all were huge compared to the iPhone. I actually don't think the first generation iPhone looks bad at all compared to the current one. Sure it's not as modern but it holds its own - thanks to Apple's futuristic designs.

Yes, most people do, twice as much people who don't want a larger screen do want a larger screen. I've posted a poll and that proves what I said that most people do want a bigger screen.

Here's my thread that I did: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1258541/

I want a bigger screen, but that poll is not representative of "most people". It's representative of 'some people who browse the iPhone board on MacRumors'.

What are you talking about, the iPhone does have 3G ?!?!!?

Why (now, clearly not in 2007) the big push for larger screens? I'm perfectly happy with the current screen size. What's the attraction to these enormous screens coming out now? (e.g. 4.65" Galaxy Nexus)

I was replying to this post at first: https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/13725568/

So I mean most people on here. But, I'm pretty sure most people who have iPhones want a bigger screen.

326 people is not most of the people on Macrumors. Yes some people do want a bigger screen but you cant say from a poll with a tiny number of participants, that it means most people want an Ipohne with a bigger screen

Okay, I can estimate that most people who have an iPhone want a bigger screen. I can use the poll results and use it as an estimation.

there are way to many other gargantuan phones out there for the iPhone to be considered "big". at least in the U.S.

I love it when old threads come up and people think they are new.

LOL, exactly. The mobile phones in mid 80 were the size of car batteries. Then they became smaller and smaller until they almost disappeared in users hand. But that's when they were only phones and not computer yet. Nowaday it s more a computer than a phone, and the OP may no longer agree with his own statement made so many years ago.
