After switching over to Apple Notes a month ago, or thereabouts, I've realized that my notes that had attachments didn't always transfer over from Evernote. Also, as many others have mentioned, using Notes on iCloud is painfully slow to use.
I just heard about a free, open-source and encrypted end-to-end note-taking and to-do app called Joplin. It works on macOS, Linux, Windows, iOS and Android. That's good because I run Linux at work and I should be able to enjoy it there too. It syncs via Dropbox and a couple of other services.
I don't have anything to say in regards to a review of it yet since I just found it today. But I kept the Evernote backup files (.enex) for all of my notebooks. I imported one notebook with a bunch of pdf's in them and so far so good.
I'm going to give this a try and will see if I will like it or not.
