minecraft shouldn't of overheated not even rocket league my toshiba didnt overheat and has half the specs and is a tablet i did clean the mac

I have a mabook pro with similar specs to you from 2010 and the thing overheats constantly - the fans kick in and make a loud noise if anything intensive is done - its just poor limitations by apple and generally laptops - since apple redesigned their fan system though there seems to be much less annoying noise and its mostly the sound of air blowing now in the new versions. There is also the option of the new macbook which has no fans or annoying noise, but then you are very underpowered for performance and limited to one port and no sd card slot

As above - clean out the dust.

The fans kicking in is NOT a sign of overheating. It is a sign of high utilisation. The Apple defined fan profiles favour quiet running over low temperatures and keep the CPU/GPU fans idling at 2000rpm (around 33%) until around 85C core temp, then they ramp up quite quickly after that to 6000rpm maximum.

If the CPU gets to 100-105C and starts throttling back or stops responding entirely, then it's overheating.
