Love how Tim Cook dresses like a 15 year old even though he looks like a grandpa. Hey man, you're a billionaire CEO--dress like it. Jobs gets a pass because he was Jobs. You're grandpa.
Do you think the CEO of one of the five most powerful companies in the world should dress like he's hanging out in the skate park? More importantly, why carry Tim Cook's water?Love how some people can only muster up criticism about how another person looks. So superficial. And juvenile.
If your surgeon or lawyer in a case for your freedom showed up to a meeting with you dressed like he or she was going to a skate park, would you be cool with that?Love how some people can only muster up criticism about how another person looks. So superficial. And juvenile.
Why should you buy the Air? I don't think you should. If this new MBA is disappointing, and the 14" Pro is "the proper equipped" model, then maybe... maybe... you should buy that one?Ridiculous and more than disappointing update for the Air.
No I/O, zero ports, not even an SD card (which is possible with this form factor); battery down from 20 h to 18 h; only 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB SSD in 2022?
Overall just overpriced and disappointing. On top: configuring the Air up to 16/512 GB will cost $1,599.00; the proper equipped 14'' Pro costs $1999 which is only $300 more. Why should I buy the Air? For the Magsafe2?
This was an apple keynote not a senate hearing. If your surgeon or lawyer in a case for your freedom showed up to a meeting with you dressed like he or she was going to a skate park, would you be cool with that?
I think weather was just a nod to the forum complainers. There were a couple of cool things, but overall, it was underwhelming. When a weather app is a featured highlight of iPad OS, you know it was more about quantity, not quality.
I see why they had to announce the MBA to spice things up, but that turned out to be an even bigger disappointment. It’s essentially a slight tech upgrade with a BIG price upgrade. Design-wise, it’s “safe”; a thinner MBP, yet the wedge-shaped M1 Air remains in the lineup along with the oddly positioned 13” MBP… yeah, that won’t confuse buyers one bit. /s
I agree, stage manager is a pretty big deal on the iPad, but it's good on Ventura as well. I'll use that.I think weather was just a nod to the forum complainers.
Stage Manager and external monitor support is a pretty big deal. I'd love a full on MacOS experience on iPadOS but I get what they're doing with Stage Manager and it fits in quite nicely with the 'focused' ethos they're trying to push for iPad's. Freeform is nice too. Desperately needed something like that that didn't require me to throw away $10 a month just for a damn whiteboard app.
You’re wrong this keynote was actually fun because of iOS in a long time. This keynote was not boringI'm not impressed.
MacOS 13 seems weak on features. cuts off a lot of Macs.
IOS 16 seems real weak on features.
Apple admits that the M2 chip will not beat Intels chips.
Yes, that’s very realistic… replace one model with a newer one with better specs for the same or lower price. Tech is deflationary. That’s why the original MBA cost $1,800 and the first iBook, introduced in 1999 sold for $1600 ($2,600 in today’s dollars). Not sure where you’ve been or where you’re from, but welcome to earth. So MBP specs with a new M2 chip for MBA price or even cheaper is realistic? Right
Job's magic was that he tend to present in a coherent narrative, and since it's live, his confidence put out a very convincing offer. And Jobs actually showed how much he really liked what he's presenting. Thus the reality distortion field was perfect.Did not watch the event. What I found interesting in Dan's video was the sort of weird similar "gestures/expressions" across all the presenters as we just see short clips w/o sound. Can we not get a little variation ?? I really like Elon Musk's approach. It is f***king great, so just walk thru it quickly and concisely. (BTW: Not an Elon-the-person fan.) I think, having seen a lot of SteveJ's presentations, that was part of his RDF approach. He just had the confidence that this was sooo great (maybe sometimes it was a front) that it was going to sell itself: no excessive gestures, smiles, head tilts, eyebrow raises. Apple's current presenters look sort of like they have an automaton in front of a green screen, and skin it differently to represent each person. Not complaining about Apple's approach to products, markets, etc. Just wish someone would get up there once in a while and stare us down and imply that they don't need all the happy/excited stuff because, "This is the greatest f***king thing EVAH."
If your surgeon or lawyer in a case for your freedom showed up to a meeting with you dressed like he or she was going to a skate park, would you be cool with that?
It is not realistic at all lmao. You really think MBP specs in a brand new redesigned MBA body for the same price/cheaper as the outgoing MBA is realistic? What planet are you on? Do you realise it’s 2022 and not 1999 anymore? What an awful example. Surely you’re having a laughYes, that’s very realistic… replace one model with a newer one with better specs for the same or lower price. Tech is deflationary. That’s why the original MBA cost $1,800 and the first iBook, introduced in 1999 sold for $1600 ($2,600 in today’s dollars). Not sure where you’ve been or where you’re from, but welcome to earth.
8 years of support on the 6s and 7 years on the iPhone 7 seems pretty fair to me. iOS 15 will probably be supported for a while longer.More like a pruning day for Apple, cutting off a LOT of hardware from OS support.
iOS16 drops 6s/6s Plus/7/7 Plus. 2 generations off the bat.
Ventura drops 2015-2016 Mac models.
The plus side, Apple Watch S3 can finally put to rest, being dropped off WatchOS9.
This rather large chunk of hardware support being dropped can mean that this year's hardwares will be mediocre. No Mac Pro announcement, so everything is delayed. Now I am believing that iPhone 14 will be using the same A15 chip as well (thus the cutting off 2 years of iPhones to push people to upgrade).
And we still have $1500 MacBook with only 8Gb RAM.
Does Keyboard short cuts (command tab) or (comment ~), cycle between apps and open windows when multiple exist?
Apple today held a keynote event that saw the introduction of iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS 13 Ventura, watchOS 9, and the new M2 Apple silicon chip, which is soon-to-be available in the MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro.
