WHAT GIVES?
why is battery life on the 15 pro max same as last years 14 pro max?

I thought 3nm was suppose to be 30 percent more energy efficient than 5nm??

wow. and gurman says he sees only a 10 percent performance boost in your interview with him.

this is sad news.

3nm not as hot as it was cooked up to be by Apple.

I actually forgot about the event and realized a few hours after it had ended… I really had intended to watch it but got side tracked.

Maybe it’s a sign of the times… there was never much chance of anything amazing being announced.

It’s been a long while since I’ve watched an Apple event, been wowed and then gone on to pre-order. It was last years MacBook M2 that impressed me and which I went on to buy… been using it most days and it’s been a joy to use… from office tasks, web browsing to video calls. Amazing screen, battery life and super portable and light.

In the meantime I’m still rocking my Apple Watch 4 and now discontinued iPhone mini 13… so sad to see it go, but I hope to get a few more years out of them both yet. And I also have a 2020 Intel Mac mini going strong and it will get the latest MacOS update. I really like getting a lot out of my devices, and the good thing about Apple is that you know you’re buying devices that can last… even if it’s Intel era…

For new buyers, the devices announced today are cool… but are they really worth an event like this?

I guess the power usage of other components becomes more of an issue. There processors already use tiny amounts for tasks such as video playback etc

I am very whelmed by the announcements today. I need a new phone and held out for this, come Friday I think I’m going base 15. I don’t like titanium, the pro models look like cast iron. Base models get 48mp cameras. I have promotion on my iPad and I don’t need or notice it when using the device, so that’s not a showstopper for me. I never transfer via wire so the laughable 2.0 circa 1999 speeds don’t matter much.

But still can’t help feel like you’re getting “ripped off” somehow if you don’t get the pro. Last year's tech at this year's prices.

iPhone is officially a mature product. This was the keynote to skip.
Agreed, but I’ve been feeling this way for a few years now. New iPhones are for people with I'd say the 8 or earlier. Maybe X. My XS Max even still holds up camera and speed wise. HDR, OLED, etc. If it wasn’t for the data not working I’d be holding onto it for another five years.

The prices we are paying based on our domestic currency (yen) are the same or more than last year. terrible. apple watch are the same yen prices. Over all the event was fun to watch.

1. Double tap gesture - hopefully to see more "physical gestures" in the future that can utilize watch sensor to detect wrist muscle movement on certain angle. Example: fist, finger snap, triple tap, face palm.
2. Thanks for not increasing ultra price, I am seriously considering to get Ultra 2 now despite the size will look ridiculous on my wrist.
3. Pink! Barbie fans queue up.
4. So Pro model is also Titanium? Ok, will skip Pro Max this year and only get Pro. But the periscope lenses!!!! Ugh! I want that too.
5. Ray tracing!
6. Spatial video now! Smart move to promote VP.

Am I the only one who is overwhelmed with today's announcement? Probably because I never followed rumors and I read too much negative comments recently to have any expectations.
