Imagine being able to hook it up to a screen for some quick gaming etc… these phones are becoming insanely powerful.
Now we just need to see Apple get the AppleTV cooking. A version of an M2 or a A17 that can be clocked up with active cooling. If they could do at it a similar price point then it could be a real console contender, not in terms of raw power but in overall value.

But still can’t help feel like you’re getting “ripped off” somehow if you don’t get the pro. Last year's tech at this year's prices.

Exactly how I feel. There's a lot of reasons I haven't bought an iPhone in a long time, but the sense that you're either getting ripped off on the price if you get a pro, or ripped off by just buying last year's pro without the pro branding, really leaves me feeling like just not buying anything at all.

IDK. Maybe I'll buy a cheap used iPhone... what can I replace my 8+ with for $300?

Very underwhelming update, kinda expected it but still disappointed.
And still the meh pill design on the iPhone, but the side button is kinda nice.

The new ultra watch face is going to be available on both the 1 and 2 no?
Updated my AWU 1 to the RC and the new face is there. **edit** I didn’t notice the night mode until I went into a room without the light on , been tinkering around with the complications a little too. Going to hang on to my Ultra until next year’s launch, hoping for a bigger update. I’ve had this since launch as a gift from the wife, it was her reciprocation for buying her the latest Samsung watch, she hates Apple but still had me buy her an IPad Pro and MacBook Pro M2

This is precisely how I feel. Like precisely. Leaves me feeling like not buying anything, and finding something cheap just to ensure you have a phone that works. I absolutely loved my 7. Maybe I can still get the speaker fixed and battery changed out lol…

You can still buy the 14 Pro at a discount. TBH If you're buying the base model, this might be a better option for the price.

I still have an iPhone 8 and was waiting for something worth upgrading. Since the 8 was released, it's taken Apple 6 years to introduce FaceID, Magsafe, a 5x camera, and USB C. At least 3 of those things I don't even care about. Everything else is just the standard chip/tech upgrades that all phone makers introduce every year.

My 8's battery needs replacing and I'm still debating if it just replace that and hold out for another year to see if the 16 is a phone worth upgrading to, or just bite the bullet get a 15PM and keep it for another 6 years.

I am very whelmed by the announcements today. I need a new phone and held out for this, come Friday I think I’m going base 15. I don’t like titanium, the pro models look like cast iron. Base models get 48mp cameras. I have promotion on my iPad and I don’t need or notice it when using the device, so that’s not a showstopper for me. I never transfer via wire so the laughable 2.0 circa 1999 speeds don’t matter much.

USB 2.0 came out 23 years ago. Wow. I forgot. 😮

Titanium 15 Pro Max looks great. I like all the colour options. Which ever colour is available at my carrier when I pick on up will be quite alright. 🤩

Apple appears to be serious about carbon neutral operations and products. i like this a lot.

I am not sure about upgrading from my Ultra to Ultra 2.

The event seemed to cater more to ESG nonsense than their actual products

When communities are being wiped out by fires and floods, it is a corporate responsibility. Now imagine the opposite where Apple did -nothing- to reduce pollution. I applaud Apple for pushing hard towards their environmental goals. Yes, it was laid on a bit thick this time, and it's clear that they needed filler content, but it was valuable content nonetheless.
