Dude 19 grams lighter. That’s 4 nickels or 4 grapes. LolThe weight of the 15 pro is the only plus for me vs my 14 pro. The "action" button is a big minus...

Makes me glad I just bought the M2 Macbook Air 15". The M3 will be a year later and probably have a price increase, with little to no noticeable battery life or performance increases.WHAT GIVES?
why is battery life on the 15 pro max same as last years 14 pro max?
I thought 3nm was suppose to be 30 percent more energy efficient than 5nm??
wow. and gurman says he sees only a 10 percent performance boost in your interview with him.
this is sad news.
3nm not as hot as it was cooked up to be by Apple.
Can we go back to live events? What do you think?
What ground my gears there, was that they introduced yet another new chip for the Apple Watch, but instead of focusing on longer battery life, nope a bit more features, but same battery life… the carbon neutral message goes only so long, knowing that for batteries you need rare earth minerals. That Mother Nature skit felt like it went for greater than 6 minutes. Probably one of the more cringy things Apple has done (not arguing their environmental initiatives but just the skit itself was bad).
Not really. Or how would you fit half an hour of Mother Nature talk into 1 minute?!It could all be announced in 1 minute.
Mother Nature “How about you stop producing minor upgrades each year so people are forced to keep their products for longer.”Not really. Or how would you fit half an hour of Mother Nature talk into 1 minute?!
Fixed it for you. But seriously though we aren't going to be seeing the big gains we used to much anymore. We are really hitting the wall on silicon process where we can't improve as many areas of the chip anymore with die shrinks. For example, Cache has not shrunk at all since 7nm really because it just can't anymore. Because of that the benefits are more and more limited with each improvement. Yes, there are still improvements in many areas that can be made but I think people need to stop expecting 50%+ performance bumps each generation going forward.3nm not as hot as it was cooked up to be byAppleThe rumor mill.
Even if they are lackluster I do like the events in general because they give you a sort of demo of any new features and whatnot so you know what you will be getting if you upgrade, but lets be real here. The time where phone upgrades where exciting has long past, they are a very mature product now so they just aren't going to be amazing anymore. So, yeah…
TBH we see this moest years nowadays: Apple events becoming boring and “simply more of the same”.
Occasionally we get exciting stuff like the Apple Vision Pro, but most events now are just very long commercials which zoom in all the ”amazing” details of similar stuff to last year. Be it the Fall event, WWDC or Spring event (Did we even have one this year…?)
For me: A17 is the most (or… least less) exciting: glimpse of the M3…. improved 3D for Mac
Liked the time spent detailing product technology updates, and the iPhone/watch technology helping people when they most needed it, but there seemed to be a abundance of discussions that were at best educational concerning aspects of Apple operations not really what we were expecting.Apple today held its "Wonderlust" fall event, introducing the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, Apple Watch Series 9, and Apple Watch Ultra 2. It took Apple an hour and a half to introduce all of the new devices, but we've recapped everything in a super quick six minute video for our readers who want a short but detailed overview of all of the new announcements.
Yeah, more padding than products. This 1yr cycle may be too much now, making them event-based instead of product-based.A very very blah meh event. Stagnation all around. Really none of this even needed an event.
They explicitly mentioned that the cobalt in the AW batteries are 100% recycled. What ground my gears there, was that they introduced yet another new chip for the Apple Watch, but instead of focusing on longer battery life, nope a bit more features, but same battery life… the carbon neutral message goes only so long, knowing that for batteries you need rare earth minerals.
Totally agree it was a boring event that dragged on for far too long. But hostile towards users? Drama queen much. Thanks for making that video, dear Apple, I won’t buy anything from you in the foreseeable future because your stuff has become so boring and hostile towards your users.
I was hoping to finally jump on a Pro and Watch combo, but I am not willing to pay your prices anymore if I don’t get the best camera tech and at least 256GB on the Pro base model. Stop the nickel and diming, everyone can see what you are doing.
Your target customers do not include me anymore. I believe that most of your future user-oriented innovations will come from EU regulation (free app installation, iMessage interoperability, user-swappable batteries and other components). When I need a new phone I will see what you have on offer. Until then, I might give you a few bucks for a battery swap.
Yeah, the pic with Tim Cook and blurry servants made me think of Baron Harkonnen in the first Dune movie.I was ready to get the 15 Pro and Ultra 2, but feel like not a lot changed. Maybe will get regardless.
The event was off-putting though with the hostile Mother Nature and that stuff. Yikes.
