Anyone know if the keynote is able to be downloaded anywhere yet? No on podcasts app yet and have to catch a flight soon. Wanted to watch while in the air...

Hey Apple What's with only the two ugly colors silver and gray at least you could give us Gold.

I really don't agree.
Yes, this pattern has been going on for a while, especially with some of the self-proclaimed "power users" who frequent message forums like this one.

But there's really a sense over the last few years that the new products are more incremental improvements than "amazing".

Back in the days of OS X 10.3 to 10.4 to 10.5, the changes really were exciting. I don't recall people, on the whole, finding anything underwhelming about what was announced? Other announcements after that were a big deal too.

But the track record in recent years just isn't so great. The Mac Pro cylinder was a LONG awaited "big deal" until it came out, disappointing many people initially and further disappointing even those who bought it, as time went on! The touch-bar feature on the new Macbook Pro? Again, underwhelming, even long after the Keynote tried to talk it up. If it was so innovative, why don't we even see it on a high end machine like the new iMac Pro? It feels like an Apple R&D experiment to see what users thought about it more than a real innovation Apple knew would change how we used computers.

Apple is fortunate that it has a line of products that were so good on the whole, they can sit back and do relatively small updates to them and yes, people will keep buying them. Too many millions of people are heavily invested in the whole Apple ecosystem and don't want to start over just because the latest products don't absolutely "wow" them. But the thrill is gone, to a large extent.

It is exactly like every Apple product release:

Step 1: People got high expectations.
Step 2: People are underwhelmed by the keynote and complain like crazy.
Step 3: People see the device in real life for the first time. And buy it.

Now if only they would allow preorders for prepaid customers on Verizon, AT&T and Sprint.
Typical Apple 128Gb gone, 512GB gone. prices up.
well iphone x with 256GB for 1.329 euro ....... hmmm let me think about that. I wait a year or two, this price is ridiculous.

you make couple videos in 4k and 64GB is full in no time.
This is pathetic I do not play this game anymore.
You must have not been keeping up to date with the news. Because he iPhone uses a compression system which cuts the amount of storage a 4K 60fps video in half. Also 256 gb is a ton of storage to use for 4K. Also I doubt 4K video editors would keep hour long videos of 4k footage on their phones and not transfer it to a computer.

Interesting possibility, but I think what will prevent this from really taking place is the fact the watch still generally needs to tether to an iPhone for full functionality. The device was designed from its core to serve as a glorified remote screen and input device to your phone, plus some sensors for the fitness tracking aspects to work.

If you already have an iPhone with you and a bluetooth headset, making and taking calls via the watch isn't that big a deal. And the younger crowd DOES carry a phone pretty much everywhere.

People don't know it yet, but the Watch with cellular is THE most important product announced. It is going to blow up. It will become THE default phone for a lot of people, especially the younger ones.

RE: No 128Gb iPhone

Even more after Apple unilaterally trashes all your 32 bit apps that you paid for! That's plenty of gigs there. UGH! :(

There's always a "Bag O' Hurt" added.

Apple today held its annual September iPhone-centric event, and this year's keynote saw the debut of some of the most impressive devices we've seen from the company in years.

It took Apple two hours to introduce the iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, Apple Watch Series 3 and 4K Apple TV, but we've recapped the entire event in just over five minutes for those of you who would like to get a quick overview of all the announcements.

The $999 iPhone X was the main event at today's keynote, with the device featuring the most advanced technology ever available in an iPhone. It has an entirely revamped design with an edge-to-edge display and a glass body, plus it features new facial recognition capabilities that replace Touch ID, an A11 Bionic chip, inductive wireless charging, and dozens of other improvements.

Its companion devices, the iPhone 8 ($699) and the iPhone 8 Plus ($799) are also impressive. Though these two iPhones are similar in design to the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus and lack facial recognition, they too feature glass bodies that enable wireless charging and an A11 Bionic chip, among other improvements.

The Apple Watch Series 3 looks like the Apple Watch Series 2, but it features a faster processor and new LTE functionality, allowing it to operate independently of the iPhone for the first time. Pricing on the LTE Apple Watch Series 3 starts at $399, while a non-LTE version is available at prices that start at $329. A selection of new bands have also been introduced alongside the new Apple Watch.

Last but not least, Apple introduced the new 4K Apple TV, which features support for 4K HDR streaming. There's a new A10X Fusion processor in the Apple TV, but design wise, it's identical to the fourth-generation Apple TV. Pricing on the new Apple TV starts at $179.

With the exception of the iPhone X, all of Apple's new devices will be available for pre-order on Friday, September 15 ahead of a Friday, September 22 launch date. The iPhone X will launch on November 3, with pre-orders for that device available on October 27.

I agree that the Watch with LTE is a big step forward! Users get to bring only your watch and leave the phone behind. One concern would be the battery life through. Not sure about younger ones, sounds definitely interesting for late 20s - 40s loll

Yeah those are the “younger ones” demographic

Apple watch 3 noted feature a "red" knob..

Apple TV 4K:- Now i know why they removed the App Store from iTunes.... Gonna make it a big change..

I like the 'pad' where u can charge 3 devices at once. Since third party apps ca use this FaceID, this is gonna look good.

Love all the stuff in the new iPhone X, BUT i really hate the look of the screen where the front facing camera is, looks like an upside down tab.
Something about it does not go well with my eye's.

These are always so helpful, thanks.

This is the way to see the announcements, no fluff so no TLDR OR TLDW. Thanks

Agreed. Agreed. Agreed.

I tried to watch the full Apple version and only got as far as the end of the Watch section.

Just to give everyone an example, the full "Apple Retail" (AKA stores) segment was a 10-15 minute snooze in its unexpurgated entirety. In contrast, the snappy MacRumors sub-60-second-version was perfect: We even got to see Angela's gravity-defying stilleto heels which, to be brutally frank, was the best bit. :)

Kudos MacRumors!

The big AR Game demo was from Directive Games, founded by game 'experts' and located in Shanghai China. See where all this is going?

It looks more like a Samsung than an iPhone with that camera and the lack of bezels.

After years of delays implementing wireless charging, and everybody hopefully Apple was pioneering a new wireless standard (a.k.a, WiTricity) with a decent range; instead, we get boring old Qi. If that's all Apple was going to do, why didn't they implement it years ago? Android has had it for years and years. Very disappointing. Comes across as lazy, and to counter their final quote, "moving to where the puck has been, for years".

4k Blu-rays for movies still as new ATV lacks support for Dolby Atmos, DTS Master Audio....still. Grrrrr.

Otherwise a great improvement.

Long live discs!

When Federighi entered the passcode was that because the face id didn't work or was it a deliberate joke or some other reason?
He switched to backup iPhone because FaceID didn't work.

The Steve Jobs pipeline ran dry a year or two ago and there is nothing innovate to replenish it. Even Phil the Shill had trouble being enthusiastic today when describing highly priced but mere incremental change. The presentation could have been done in 30min w/o all the backslapping. We could have done completely without Angela's retail update. Who want to hang out at an Apple Town Square . I won't even go there to buy anything.

They forgot to do the first unlock after reboot, which always require a passcode, or phone crashed and rebooted at some point while it was waiting to be presented.
I'm sure when they set up the demo iPhones, they tested them many times that FaceID would work on both phones.
Leaving the "main demo unit" freshly restarted without entering the passcode would have been very dumb. I believe it crashed or something.

It was the one killer moment that Face ID would be used the first time in front of the major audience and everyone was watching closely.... and they blew it.

You mean H.265.
In reality 64 GB still is too small. I like to make many movies now at FullHD 60. Now compressed with H.264.
My current iPhone is iPhone 7 with 128 GB.

On my last holiday I had to remove apps to free up some storage as Photos wasn't able to upload them to iCloud for automated storage recovery (the Wifi in South Africa wasn't able to handle the data).

So, 4K 60 with H.265 uses 2x the amount of FullHD 60 with H.264.... 256 GB storage is quite necessary if you like to shoot your movies @ 4K.

6 years and a watch
Apple used to at least innovate new stuff before overcharging us
yea new OS! one more generation of Apple gear no longer works (nor be repaired/recycled)
