Likely an 18PM for me if they can deliver the new Siri/AI features and make iOS smooth and reliable. Meantime will see what the S26 Ultra looks like in a few weeks - assuming there will be a few competitive deals around when the 18PM is released…

Knowing that Macbooks have very long usable lifespans, I wonder how they intend to prevent screen burn-in on the OLED display. I don't imagine OLED screen replacements will be cheap either.

OLED may be fine for televisions where static images are rare.. but both Mac and Windows have static images as part of the desktop environment.
Some form of pixel shift, OLED tv have been doing this for many years and it’s not an issue. There are some cases of screen burn but I suspect it maybe due to defective panels or user misuse. The majority seem to be doing well.

iPhone 18 front-facing camera hole punch - I have no idea why they think getting rid of the Dynamic Island (which they spent a lot of time fine tuning and showcasing) and then moving the camera to a single hole punch… how that is an improvement… baffling…
Better question is will Apple decide to go asymmetry on the front screen.

Looking forward to all the new products Apple is planning to release in 2026. Would like Apple to bring colors for the whole lineup. I love my Orange 17 Pro Max. Wish they have a nice bright color every year. Waiting to see the redesigned MacBook Pro. Not sure whether that will be a 2026 product. Cellular capability will be a great addition. Expecting iMac to get a refresh with bright colors and probably a bigger iMac too. Waiting to see the new Home products. A security camera will be nice. Don't think I will buy the 1st foldable from Apple but have been waiting for it a long time. Screen size may end up to be bit smaller than I expected and looks like a telephoto lens will be missing.

Extremely happy with my Apple purchases this year and love them all very much. Overall very happy with the products Apple launched in 2025 and waiting to see the future releases.

Still copium Apple gonna bring back name Fusion to their soc A-series after decode ago copium Apple introduced A20 Fusion for new iPhone and A20X Fusion for fold

Some of these products are a bit too little, too late for me. 🤷‍♂️
Yes indeed, the excitement is gone, the premium pricing too much, the barely there improvements too little too late.

The competition is suddenly looking better than ever.

Tired of waiting years for an Apple foldable, I bought a Z Fold7 upon its release. What an enjoyable, fun experience. It revealed a level of quality and innovation Apple has since abandoned.

I don’t know why they keep saying the new entry level MaBook will compete against “cheap” Chromebooks. At $599-$699 US ($899-$999 CAN) thats not “cheap” Chromebook territory. In Canada cheap Chromebooks are in the $199-$399 CAN range, half the cost of the new MacBook. And almost no one spending more than that is buying a garbage Chromebook, they’re getting into a Windows laptop.

Next year I might think about upgrading from my iPhone 14. At this point I will consider the 17e, the 17 and the iPhone Air 2.

My current M2 iPad Air 13 is running fine so I doubt very much I would think about upgrading from it. Same with my M3 iMac with 16/512—it’s running well so no need to change it.

With those three devices I’ve got all my device needs covered. I like the idea of a MacBook Air 15, but I can’t rationalize what I would use it for that I’m not doing already with my iPad or iMac.

The one thing I’d like to see improvements/changes to is Liquid Glass, but I fear we’re stuck with it for quite sometime.

The one thing I can see myself upgrading is my Bluetooth speaker, but it’s not an Apple device. I have a several years old Logitech UE Boom. I’m not taken with the price of Apple’s Homepod and the Homepod Mini doesn’t do anything for me.

Did I miss it, or did the article skip any guesses on what's going to be announced at the Fitness+ event thingy?

So finally in Spring we get to see Siri on steroids in iOS26 update v4. I want a Lou Reed option among the male voice selections. Who the hell named it "Siri" anyway? ...so similar to being ...umm ...silly and it ended up that way. Set up from the gate to be mocked. Seriously they should change the name ...a perfect opportunity to rid it of its miserable name and find a new identity.

So now we just wait.... and see how things develop ....will Tim pull a rabbit out of the hat this year and surprise us with some nice jaw dropping products and pricing? (probably need to take this with a mountain size pile of salt).

It seems he hasn't much time left so he may want to go out on a high.

When was the earliest time that Apple released new products in a year?

I'm sitting here with money in my hand to buy the MacBook Pro M5 Pro. Before they screw up the MacBook Pro line for a few years with their "thinner design" and a touchscreen.

Same here. I have a 2021 14” MBP M1pro and waiting for the MBP 14” M5pro to release. since I plan to keep it at least 4/5 years, going to go whole hog…32gb ram and 1TB storage. I mostly keep everything on external storages so the 1TB is to allow for OS growth, etc

Well, the first iPhone was announced on January 9, 2007 by Steve Jobs at Macworld. That was pretty early for an announcement. Not sure about the earliest a product was actually released to retail sales, though.

The “cheap” MacBook has my interest. Been eyeballing the 12” retina MacBooks recently … found a fully-specced one (i7, 16gb ram) but I have to keep reminding myself that they’re old, slow and the keyboard wasn’t the best.

Still hoping that a new, cheap MacBook will come to life, in vibrant colors with a screen smaller than the 13” MBA, in a different body than the M1 MBA.

Something completely new with a fresh design.

And 16gb of ram. 😉

But…but…what about the iPhone Air 2? Sometimes I feel like I’m the only one that likes this phone 😭
If current iPhone Air sales are really in the dumpster, it makes no sense for Apple to pour resources into selling a second generation Air for another entire year. Discontinuing it would be the logical choice from a business perspective.

With iOS 27, Apple could update Siri's design. ‌Siri‌ will get its major overhaul in iOS 26.4, but a new visual look is supposedly planned for iOS 27. There are no specifics about what the redesign might entail, but rumors linked to Apple's upcoming tabletop robot suggest that the company might introduce a version of ‌Siri‌ that's more animated, similar to the Mac Finder logo. That more animated version of ‌Siri‌ could also come to the ‌iPhone‌ and ‌iPad‌.

If Apple is licensing Gemini from Google for Siri’s LLM maybe it could approach Microsoft to license Clippy for the Siri animations.

It’s already been essentially confirmed there is going to be an Air 2.

I will need to update :
Apple mini (currently Intel)
iPhone (currently SE2)
maybe aTV (4k 1st gen)
iPad (10.2" - G7)

so yes, I am looking at what is coming

I just want an iPhone mini. Apple, whatcha got?
I'd settle for something < 6" (say the 5.8" screen size that was in the X/Xs/11 Pro in an updated/modern design)

Hypothetical 18 Pro 5.8-inch

SpecificationHypothetical 18 Pro (5.8-inch)
Screen Size5.8 inches
Height (H)≈142.3 mm
Width (W)≈68.2 mm
Depth (D)≈8.75 mm
Weight≈178 g

or Hypothetical 18 5.8-inch

SpecificationHypothetical 18 (5.8-inch)
Screen Size5.8 inches
Height (H)≈140.5 mm
Width (W)≈67.6 mm
Depth (D)≈8.0 mm
Weight≈155 g

Generated with Gemini.
